UPDATE: Xbox Update soon!!

I have 2 questions:

- Right now the Xbox Elite controller can only duplicate regular buttons on the paddles. Are those paddles gonna be customizable with their own controls after 1.6? Or is that still locked my Microsoft?

- Will we have access to past paint jobs that we missed out on because they weren't available to us yet? Like the Black Friday, or the PAX paint jobs like the one we submitted to that form with a few months back? What about the gold one?

No complaints here, I'm super stoked for this update. This is just genuine curiosity.

Unfortunately we don't have direct access to the Elite controller paddles so you won't be able to customize them separately to the face buttons - just mirror the face buttons settings.

With regards to past paint jobs - it's an interesting question and there are on going discussions within the Marketing Team about this.

Huge news! I can't wait for the update. Frontier will see some money from me that's for sure. :) I need a nice paintjob on my Asp. Or two. Also some bobbleheads. Anyway, bring it on guys!

I'm so happy about the news on the update but have one question will there be anyway to change colour of the Hud from orange to less stressful colour.

Support for this isn't currently planned for any platform, but it is on our wish list.

It burns. :(

Haha..

Now i imagine David Braben walking around like a cranky teacher with a ruler to slap you on the fingers for not working hard enough.

I don't have any update on that, the expectation is that game extra's currently on sale in the Store will be available for Xbox One :- https://www.frontierstore.net/game-extras/elite-dangerous-game-extras.html

(Subject to any offers, or time limitations that might be current in force).

Already answered up top!**Will the PAX Paintjobs be included in this too**

Not answered--->also is there going to be a Beta on the xbox, or is that just for the Engineers on the PC?

missed opportunity ... again
did you contact microsoft and discuss elite controller at all???
is this strictly on your end or theres, why not push them to make a few configurations for your game as they have done for others like halo and gears of war???
makin the elite controller "the" controller for the true elite experience, could easily make xbox and pc control debate go away once and for all
i play with an elite controller with a chatpad as well, and i know im not alone.... how this setup cannot be better utilized within this game is a sin, and jus a bad business decision by you and microsoft
it would easily be a great option for many xbox players to truely control there ships the way they wish they could, in turn enhancing there experience with your game and selling more merch for microsoft

maybe you guys should think about this.... please
i feel like you are overlooking, completely missing, or simply dont care

Gary, any chance of Frontier adding cross-network play between Xbox One and PC, given that it is now officially supported by Microsoft?

This support isn't simply for Xbox One and Windows 10 users to play together via Xbox Live - it's full support for *cross-network* play between people on Xbox One with Xbox Live, people on Windows ** PCs with Steam or other networks, and even other consoles...

(see http://news.xbox.com/2016/03/14/letter-chris-charla-idxbox-updates-gdc/ and http://www.rocketleaguegame.com/news/2016/03/xbox-one-cross-network-play/ )

Controller differences shouldn't be used as a reason not to do it - just give people the option to play on their own network or play cross-network (that's what Rocket League does). If people don't want to go up again kb/m or HOTAS they could just choose "Solo" or "Open - XBL" instead of "Open - XBL/PC".

The vision of the game has always been for everyone to be able to play together in the same Galaxy. The announcement from Microsoft regarding cross-play certainly helps us towards that vision, but there are many technical and infrastructure obstacles that need to be resolved.
I do feel it would be great if players had the option to play cross-platform so (as you say) they could then choose the game mode that suited them.

I don't see how the private group thing will change "Open" play.
I play only Open with a friend, and we have never seen another CMDR... ever. From the starting system, and all over the place (currently near Lave), and over 3 days of in game time, and not s single other person seen.

This is totally microsoft.

the peddals on the Elite controller are pure alternate buttons, not "extra" buttons.. Microsoft them self said so. Its for "remapping" not "adding" buttons for us to use. Even in the X1 it self you can't add those peddals for extra options..

A dissapointment, and the reason, why i see no benefit into buying one..

Frontier is not to blame here.. Infact, that we can remap all buttons in 1.6 on the controller is VERY, VERY impressive already.. Name me 5 other games that can do that..
