Drats, guess i gotta try a bit harder.

Question, am i not allowed to take the random factions of a system and given them some story? Does the story have to be player related? Bit confused on if what im doing is even acceptable

Generally speaking you're free to use minor factions in a submission.

There are some guidelines at the top of this thread that may be helpful.

Well i understand your choice to reject but can i at least get some feedback on what i did wrong? Did i sorta get bogged down in unnecessary details? Grammar errors? weird flow? Not generally interesting? Contradicting lore? I don't think i can be a fair judge for my own work.

I hate to ask this and sound like I'm whining, just i really want to improve at writing theses types of things so next time i try and submit something it wont come off as equally unacceptable.

TITLE: Following the Breadcrumbs

DESCRIPTION:
Imperial investigator and noted counterinsurgent, Cornelius Gendymion, released a statement to the Prism Herald addressing the accusations that Imperial agents were responsible for the destruction of Starship One.

“Tragically, Federal Times reporter Elaine Boyd’s investigative reporting has been neglected by her countrymen. You may recall she highlighted the suspicious deaths of key individuals involved in both the Antares and Starship One investigations before her alleged suicide.”

“Very unlike a suicidal person, Elaine left instructions on public servers to disseminated her investigation files should her death be reported. Her data detailed an off the books investigation into the Antares by VP Smeaton, and alleged that he was murdered.”

“Congressman George Fallside’s early knowledge of the VP’s death was waved away as coincidence, but I suspect Jacob Harris might have better luck finding Starship One’s saboteurs if he searches within Federation borders. Perhaps starting with folks who have ties to Core Dynamics.”

- The Battle for Tanmark
- The system of Tanmark was plunged into an all out war when The Guardians of Tranquillity attempted to take over Onion Head production in the system. After sustaining heavy losses defending Cassie-L-Peia station, Tanmark United Systems were forced to call upon the support of the East India Company who dispatched an armada to aid their business partners. The arrival of the East India Company took the Guardians by surprise and they were soon pushed back to Yul Brynner Memorial Station. In desperation CMDR Eldrich Stark and CMDR Varp were forced to request aid from their allies the 8th Dragons Squadron, The Guild of Rebuy-Screenius Maximus & Achenar Immortals who descended upon Tanmark evening the odds for the Guardians. As the war threatened to spill into neighbouring systems the Guardians were forced to withdraw from Yul Brynner Memorial and diplomatic channels were opened with the East India Company.

If you saw a spike in traffic at Tanmark over the weekend this is the reason, excellent fun :)

Title: Above and Beyond the Call of Duty

Description:

Since the calls put out over ten months ago by leading interstellar figures for independent pilots to pledge their ships and their service, the response from commanders has been overwhelming.

Many have been pledged from the day recruitment offices opened, and their efforts have been invaluable in supporting their chosen leaders. Some have chosen to serve in one particular field, tirelessly hauling the supplies that keep outlier systems connected to headquarters, whilst others have seen tours of duty along domain borders that have lasted for months. Rumours abound also that covert and unidentified strike teams cross over the borders, risking danger time and again to disrupt enemy efforts. One anonymous pilot stated:

“I’ve racked up thousands of hours since I took my pledge of allegiance. There’s been some exhausting weeks, it’s true. But it’s all worth it if I can make a difference.”

Title: Thrite space in a state of chaos!
Date: Anytime
Location: Thrite

TEXT

The system of Thrite is experiencing a all out war in space between its native factions. With the mercenary corporation "Legal Solutions" hunting down the remaining assets belonging to the "Noble families" in Thrite.

"Legal Solutions" gets it name for having soldiers who follow a strict morale code and act accordingly with system laws but are still the solution to any of your problems. This group established itself as the dominate mercenary group in the system and has been confirmed by Moria Wagner herself that the group has been hired as a tactical strategy to continue applying pressure. this allows her troops time to rest and establish fortifications after the attack of Amundsen Station.

Meanwhile the Noble navy is being call back to defend the capital city "Cassini" from a possible assault by the Defense party. With all sips defending their few remaining bases and the Capital, majority of space is now unguarded and becomes a opportunity for the Thrite Mafia to go on a vicious crime spree. The Mafia has been launching ambushes on numerous convoys belonging to the "Advanced commodities" Corporation, who handle majority of the Export and imports for the system of Thrite. With the Noble navy unable to defend them they are taking heavy losses in both profit and personal. Moria Wagner of the Defense party has dispatched a small portion of the Defense party's navy to assist the Corporation in defending their assets from this unlawful threat. Only time will tell if the Defense party will stay true to their name and deliver the safety and security they promised the people of Thrite.

The war for control of Tanmark ended this week with Tanmark United Systems victorious over the invading Guardians of Tranquility. It was revealed in the aftermath that Tanmark United Systems were backed by none other than the East India Company.

Perceiving that their way of life and economy were under threat, Tanmark United called in their financial benefactor to ensure the continued security and trade of the commodities Tanmark Tea and Lucan Onionhead.

Jahena Yar Savor, Chairperson of the EIC, released the following statement: “The loss of life is regrettable and ordinarily we would seek to resolve this conflict in a meeting room before hardpoints were deployed but as the war was already in progress when we received the request for aid there was little else we could do.”

“I can confirm that since the victory we have been in talks with the Guardians of Tranquility, a noble group originating in Tarach Tor who deal mostly in the local spice and whose ethos and ambitions are largely in line with our own. We are seeking an arrangement that will see Tanmark's economy under the joint control and reinforcement of both our great organisations.”

“Under this new agreement, the spice will indeed continue to flow. This sector of space will continue to be the goto area for unique and exotic commodities. It will be tea and spice and all things nice.”

can i at least get some feedback on what i did wrong?

Given the finite amount of time at our disposal, it simply isn’t possible to enter into a discussion over subjective issues such as those you’ve highlighted (“weird flow”, “not generally interesting”, etc.). If there are small, objective issues with a submission we will give feedback to that effect, but the amount of time we can devote to engaging in a critical dialogue is unfortunately very limited.

I appreciate that it can be disappointing when a submission isn’t selected for publication, but the best advice I can give remains to refer to the guidelines at the top of this thread.
