apparently they've been banned, due to some earlier 'secret wars'

could be a bit like the dune universe, maybe there's an AI faction out there waiting to be discovered, along with some aliens.
a galaxy wide war would be a good way to reset the galaxy back to near the games' starting state.

Something akin to the Butlerian Jihad you mean? Interesting. This could end up going down the X route and the Xenon. I would be hoping for something different.

It's a ship I designed for the Traveller tabletop RPG many many years ago. To complete the circle I got into Traveller because of Elite, which in itself was inspired by Traveller. Phew.

Nice name. I'll call it something I used to call my ships in Sid Meier's Pirates! 'Scourge of the Sea (Galaxy)' or something like that. :D Hey - can we actually have our name written on the ship? That'd be pretty cool!

Don't know yet, but I've a fondness for The Wrath of Angels, but probably need to be sure I can shoot straight first. Of course there's always Beowulf, but now Im really showing my age.

If we're going down that route, how about Miles Kington's "A l'eau, c'est l'heure"? One of the boats in the marina where I work is called that.

I didn't know what that meant so Google to the rescue. One forum I found stated:

I intend on doing that but hopefully with my own twist rather than directly lift a name. I certainly don't want to see a Gray Area and certainly not its alternate name. ;)
