voice attack

hello my name is dave have just bought elite dangerous and bought voice attack and voice overs but I carnt get them to bind over with the game been trying for 2 days looked on youtube and still carnt do it?????????????

All you need to do is load the profile in VoiceAttack (Verity from HCS in my case), and go to keybinding. In the second column (or whichever one you don't have your keys assigned to) click, and then speak the corresponding command.

For instance, if I wanted to remap my FSD command so it would work with VoiceAttack, I would click on the keybinding to enable my FSD and then say "Engage Frame Shift Drive".

Yep - you may need to go into 'Edit Profile' (the icon of the man being stabbed by a giant pencil) and check that each command maps to how you have your control options set.

Additionally, in your hcs folder (it'll be found under Voice Attack/Sounds) you'll find some links to various HCS resource videos that'll help you out with all sorts of stuff. From keybinding, to creating your own variables.

Just got one myself yesterday and found it relatively easy to use once I followed the keybinding setup. I use an X-55 Rhino HOTAS and didn't have a lot of those functions bound to keys. Now I do, and all seems to work aside from the 30 meter clearance command.

Make sure when you're issuing the voice command to set a bind, that you click on the bind so it'll be highlighted. Example. If you want her to bind engage supercruise, you have to click on one of the boxes (the empty one will do nicely) under Key Binding then issue the command. Voice Attack will perform the command and set the bind.

As for setting which window it goes to, you can set it to only go to the ED Client (have to have it loaded first for the option to pop up), but I find Active Window to work better. This way I can Alt-Tab out, load up Notepad and test phrases and whatnot and see the response as issued commands.

hello I have watched your video I have managed to bind some settings like 100% etc but carnt do no more tried applying after a few commands but still carnt change anything and I think I have the wrong voice pack the one I have is hcs orion very fustrating

The video I linked is just a universal set up. I don't have Astra. I got Verity instead, but the process still worked for me. There might be additional options for Orion that the video doesn't cover. Folks who purchased Orion should be able to help out in that regard. As for the key binding not applying, I'm not sure what to say other than maybe Voice Attack wasn't applying the commands to the correct application window. If you set it to Elite Dangerous, make sure it's the Elite Dangerous (CLIENT) as the other is the launcher. The CLIENT won't show up on the list until after you actually load the game.

The real problem with the video is that it does not cover SRV and Horizon stuff. Other then that it works just fine with Orion.

There are quite a few Horizons related commands (I didn't see any offhand that needed to be bound) that you can find by following this video. It's a quick and dirty way of exporting the info to HTML format so you can print out a list. This also applies to any additional options you've imported like the Galaxapedia, Constellations and Quantum Theory stuff.

I just mapped my own as many are doubled in the ships voice already. It took 1 whole week to get it right and then learn to add the handy muti-macros for "Request Docking", "Battle Stations", "Go" top speed with 4pips Engines + Boost, etc.
e.g. 1 silly thing was the preset for Lower Landing Gear - it would lower it then raise again as it was picked up twice over the speakers!

Yeah that's where I'm at now. I've gotten things running okay. Now it's time to tweak and even add in some of the unused responses by adding new stuff on my own.

Sorry I mean the stock video does not show you how to link Horizon specific commands (video is out of date), not that Orion didn't have them, or you could not figure it out your self.

When I installed the Orion VP I remember running an .exe set up file, before importing the Profile, and I still had to individually voice activate some of the keybinds in the end. You should have gotten a Read ME file to get you started I found mine in: Computer > Windows > Program Files (x86) > VoiceAttack > Sounds > hcspack -ORION

You should find all of the info you need there.

Not entirely sure if this is your problem but are you using the supplied binds files?

I found it easiest to use the pre-made bind file and then change it in game settings to recreate my controller setup. These binds files mimic the default control profiles supplied with the game. I use a Steam Controller so used the KB+M file as the basis for my control setup.

Look in C:/Program Files (x86)/hcspack-ORION/Profiles/Binds

You will find folders with preset binds files.

Depending on what you use for control choose the best fitting bind file and copy it over to:

C:/Users/yourusername/AppData/Local/Frontier Developments/Elite Dangerous/Options/Bindings

When you start up ED and go to options / controls there will be a new profile available called HCSPACKS SOMETHING

You can edit and save this profile. Be aware that changing the default keys (these are mostly the left hand column of key binds in the control settings screen) will mess up the links to VoiceAttack. This works best if you are already using a default control profile or mostly need to change some of the joystick / mouse settings.

As you are new to the game I strongly recommend starting with one of the binds files supplied by HCS Voice Packs. The advantage of this is that this binds setup will work seamlessly with any other voices you by from HCS.

As you are new to Elite Dangerous I suggest you use the method of using one of the supplied .BINDS files supplied by HCS Voice Packs. Use this as the basis of your control setup and make alterations to mouse / joystick to suit you by editing them in game at Options / Controls.

It is described best in this video.

Excuse me, but there's one possibly obvious answer -
have you 'trained' your PC for your voice in the Windows voice recognition utility?
If you speak commands while voice attack is running, and look at the voice attack main display, it will say things like 'recognised' and then the command you said, or 'unrecognised' ...along with what it thought you said.
If it is recognising your commands, then your keybinds aren't set up (unlikely at this point), or more likely you don't have 'focus' on the elite window - on the Voice attack screen it ought to be reading 'send commands to active window'... as an example of #how to be ignored' I run another add on program for trading, and if I've clicked on one of that program's windows and don't click back on the elite window, then VA commands don't have any effect as they're trying to do things in my trading program rather my ship.

If it is NOT recognising your commands, no matter what you say it just says 'unrecognised': (and a bit of text showing what it thinks you said) then your computer isn't recognising what you say correctly, and you need to spend more time training it via your control panel 'Ease of access' voice recognition utility....depending on version of Windows.

Does VoiceAttack work in general (outside of ED)? Does it detect any speach signal?

Because there could be a completely different problem, as well: VoiceAttack seems to collide with the audio-tools of some Asus mainboards.
I did sweat blood, until I solved this issue on my brand new computer and solved it by disabling (and finally de-installing) said program.

Voice attack only detects speech coming through the mic
