BREAKING NEWS: The Code lost Orrere, Tvasus, and Zaonce!

Yes, thanks for reminding us yet again that griefers/pirates are just here helping the rest of us out.

Except that the two categories are entirely different and I don't believe "griefer" in an actual sense help the game out.

:D Scawy, wery scawy. Thanks for the laugh. Hope you guys enjoy those other games you mentioned. No need to hurry back. One nice thing about being you is that you can brighten people's day just by going away.

That is quite generic considering it's an argument anyone can use against any faction or playstyle one dislike or disapprove of.

So whoever did this didn't splash it all over the forums? Nice work, whoever you are, that shows a bit of class.

I was there just the other day stocking up on Rares and didn't even notice the change of regime. Just the usual ghost town, in Open at least.

I believe that part of "the code" is not to be salty about anything ever-ever-ever. Teehee. ;)

After reading a lot of threads about The Code and it's successor organization I get the impression that getting salty about things is an established opus operandi of that group of players.
Like everybody else they have their trigger words that make the metaphoric tears start flowing…

And to be a bit on topic: o7 to all The Code CMDRs. It was fun to interact with you in-game and in-forum. A special salute to Anopheles - I hope your throne of salt never melts. :) Yes, that really impressed me.

Job well done to anyone who worked against the KO'd, assuming influence was lost due to player activity and not BGS bugs. Goodbye KO'd, and Good. g. Riddance.

No one said we were helping you out. We could care less about helping you out as we had enough baby sitting to do. It is pretty sad that you still have yet to learn the difference between a pirate and greifer.

Although we were kind enough to do things such as post trade routes, deliver cargo to the surges of new players, and write guides to help people understand piracy more and how to escape us. People seemed to not be able to learn how to escape us, so we had to give the community a hint or 2 to at least bring a little bit more challenge to the table. Also, some of our streamers raised money for charity and donated money to charities from their own pockets for you guessed it, getting pirated themselves.

Your post is quite sour for being such a "righteous" person. We are indeed enjoying other games with the friendships we've made. Fortunately for us we are not so shallow and can look past some RP regardless of what the player chooses.

Losing some BGS simulation is far from KOing a PvP orientated group. We did not disband in ED because we lost some grindy BGS sim, some of us just lost interest in the game. It was getting too easy. As stated, we were surprised we were not booted out earlier as we havn't done anything around the cluster in the last 5 months...lol. Your "Victory" was guranteed, simply because we didn't care. We participated in everything this game to offer from PvP to PvE. One thing is for sure, all of our members most certainly experienced more of what this game has to offer than you ever will.

No, thank you for the laugh. Sour people such as yourself will continue our legacy within ED. Thank You =). Thank you for showing me and the community the kind of person you are, despite being a "Goodie Goodie" CMDR. Your personality really shines through and it's more disgusting than 99% of the people within The Code. Way to bring some negativity to a post where there was none. You must be great at parties, sweety.

As a member of The Code, I'd like to congratulate all members who participated in expelling us from the above mentioned systems. The Code as of today holds a fraction of presence within ED then we used to. The Lave/Leesti cluster will always remind us of what we call "The Golden Days". The pirating was exceptional in this area, being in the heart of the rare trade routes. The competition to hold the area as well as the continuous stream of groups traveling to the cluster to stop our reign of terror seemed endless.

We had stopped operating in the Lave/Leesti cluster with the launch of Power Play and moved our operations, under contract, to assist Archon Delaine. After figuring out that our relationship with Archon Delaine was exponentially more beneficial to Archon Delaine we ceased our relationship with The Pirate Lord and continued on to operate in Imperial Territory in order to exploit the slave routes.

As time continued we found ourselves pirating less and participating more in combat with old and new enemies who wished to cut their teeth on a group who had a history of Wing Warfare. Unfortunately, pirating for us became obsolete, as we needed to field more combat fit ships to defend ourselves from constant attacks of other PvP groups, as well as needing a larger purse to support these wars which could not be supported by pirating trade routes alone. Simply put, the state of piracy at the time was not able to support our growing operations.

Pirating as a whole eventually died off with multiple changes within the game as it evolved. We had no reason to pirate and frankly, found it not as fun as it was during "The Golden Days". The Code still operates in small cells through out the galaxy. Most of them have given up piracy and are supporting other groups close to The Code, with their combat experience.

I'm not that great with RP, but with all of that out of the way I would like to say that it has been a blast flying with this group. As much as we were the boogie man to many CMDRs in the galaxy, they were a surprisingly friendly and great group of people. Strong friendships have been created while playing ED and many have moved on to playing other video games together. They remain active as an organization, but have chosen to not to focus soley on ED anymore. Through the ED group many other groups have been formed for other games.

It was fun playing the villain and even more fun to read about the horror stories about The Code. If only most of the CMDRs knew that the Boogie Man was actually a Teddy Bear. It's a dirty job, but someone has to play the antagonist in order for the protagonists to exist. We are more than happy to give groups of CMDRs something to band together against.

Although The Code shows less presence within ED than it used to, do not get too comfortable. The TS is indeed active and sooner or later we will be itching to get our space sea legs back.

Great job, CMDRs. I compliment you on your combined efforts to stop the expansion of our evil empire. Keep your eyes open though, It was only natural that a presence such as The Code would not last long in such important systems. The shadows is where we belong and the shadows is where we will make our new home.

With The Code washed out from The Old Worlds, which "evil" power do you plan on organizing against next?

We actually had to run a lot of missions in order to take Orerre as well as expand. We managed to do so in conjunction with other groups grinding against us. It was a lot of PvE grinding for a group that mostly enjoyed PvP. That being said, we are very surprised it took this long as we haven't run missions or done anything in those systems for the last 5 months.

Others will disagree, but it is sad to see lot go, you are right in that we do need "ba dgauys", regardless of whether some understand why or not.
Some of us are still around and sorry to say we are more heartless and have less mercy than we used to. Some of us have abandoned The Code that we pledged our lives to. In lamens terms members still exist, but are more brutal and less forgiving than they used to be. If you hated us before, then you will not be pleased with the attitude of members not bound by The Code anymore.

Good to hear, as I said, we need bad guys, whether most people understand why or not....

Z...

My prediction is that the forums will get fuller of this type of person..because the PvP crowd is learning that PvP although fun..has no reward other than pushing narratives/stories. It's sad because PvP could be so much more...other than an expensive hobby that takes to much time to recover from and has no real impact on the galaxy.

The devs felt that PvP was 'meaningful' in that death was a very high negative reward. When people have to re-grind their credits for hours to recover from this loss...it's obvious that most people will avoid PvP. Add to this that all rewarding content is PvE trophy collecting, and that PVP only gets in the way of this..again, does anyone wonder why people avoid PvP? Until it truly becomes rare?

Actually PvP is the only thing left exciting for us. It's the only thing left in the game that offers some sort of content that is not predictable. At the end of the day the mechanics surrounding this game are quite simple and straight forward. PvE simply does not offer anything too compelling to keep us hooked. Most of us are just burning through credits, seeing there's nothing really else to sink credits to and at the end of the day 10% rebuy is not that big of a punishment for dying. A lot of us don't care to fly the biggest ships as for some of us having the biggest and most expensive ship is not fun. Some PvPers like me can operate half the year on a 1 billion credit budget, flying mid tier ships and leaving enough for numerous rebuys. Regardless of other content the strength of this game is being a really really good space flight sim.

To be fair, it's not only the PvPers that bring hostility to this forum. Look at your resident "Care Bear" and what he/she has posted in this thread, un-provoked, for example.

Well, what did you expect from a PvP focused group? I'm not even aware that we had three systems until now, that's something.

We're a PvP centric group.. Even moreso than the Code and we still work our BGS. IMO that's why were given a faction.. To work it.

You've only recently become PvP centric with the silent meta and currently are only able to compete in the PvP world due to the silent meta. Of course you guys need to spend hours to farm for reloads and premium ammo before you even think about coming out. No one has seen AA leave Eravate to PvP until recently and about every PvP group will testify to that. You guys also claim to field a PvP and PvE team. We strictly field a PvP oriented team and tested the waters with PvE.

No one ever mobilized in droves to fight AA like they did The Code. The Code WAS the group to find and fight. The only time people sought you out was to go to Eravate to poke at you to see what you had going on. Even then it was a hassle to get you guys to PvP. We had to let you spend an hour to assemble your wings, then let you drop your wings in, look at each other for another 30 mins while you assembled more then actually got to fight. Even with even numbers you still would call in NPCs to help. You guys were unable to do anything live, not staged and put on a platter for you. Whoever came to Eravate to fight you had to hold your hand and help you get into a PvP fight. In a live situation if anything ever hit the fan you guys were not prepared to actually defend anything.

The last time you came out to fight The Code you were personally blown up in your Anaconda within 10 seconds after trying a gank on one of ours. It was a disappointing night as we thought we would be getting some fights but you only offered that one fight before you and your boys packed it in and left to conduct some "Super Secret Operation". The excuse you'd use when the situation got too hot for your group and you had to pull out with your tail between your legs. That was MANY months ago. Since then AA could not or would not field it's own team to challenge The Code.

Don't throw the fact you won the first season of PvP league about. The competition wasn't so stiff and became super easy with the use of premium ammo as well as reloads when everyone else was not.

As far as working your BGS, no other group has begged the community like AA to run missions for them. Every other group used their own resources to do so, while you would take advantage of ill informed players that had nothing to do with AA and have them run missions for you.

I am sincere with my words, as I am sincere when I wish AA the best and appreciate the efforts you are putting into the game, however you need to know your own place and stop talking out of the wrong hole. Not as many people accept your propaganda as you think, remember this.

What I mean by us being a "PvP-focused" group is that our enjoyment of the game depends on our interaction with other players, which tend to combat log more and more often. Your group is a reactive PvP group that sets its agenda on "protection of other players," with a mix of PvE focused gameplay. In fact, you have a PvE/BGS wing of players as we speak and are still recruiting. Of course, It's not that I deny AA has PvP factors to its name, but I want to put matters into perspectives.

The Code is a proactive PvP group, we create reason for our PvP, where AA depends on the presence of disturbance. With no disrespect, but I've been here awhile, so I think I know what I'm talking about when I say that I don't see AA that often when wing combat was fresh and everyone was doing it. I didn't often see AA outside of Eravate.

To say that AA is more of a PvP-focused group than The Code is if anything inaccurate, we do nothing but PvP.

AA happens to do both PvE and PvP as integral parts of itself, which there is nothing wrong with that, but I hope that you recognize that doesn't make you more of a PvP-focused group than The Code.

I think we have different definition of what "PvP-focused" means. If you can produce something similar in magnitude and integrity to the following list, I might be more inclined to take your argument seriously.

Pre - 1.0

1.0 - 1.1 (1.1 released Feb. 10th)

1.1 - 1.2 (Wings began Apr. 30th)

1.2 - 1.3 (Powerplay Beta began Jun. 2nd)

1.3 (Before Archon)

1.3 (During Archon)

1.3 (After Archon) - 1.4 (CQC Begins Oct. 7th)

1.4 - 1.5

Our registration as a player faction with FD is merely to gain recognition and go through the proper procedures, not that we have interest in the BGS.

PvP vs PvE has been around as long as gaming has offered the choice and vitriol between the sides has been around since the first PvP'er yelled carebear and the response back was 'Griefer!' That discussion is not an issue that is ever going to go away.

What also will not change will be the PvE trophy collection and the idea that PvP is only played by moving said trophies. The desire for 'unpredictable' PvP is found in a small subgroup and there is to steep a cost for the average player to be bothered with playing that way. Again, this is apparently by design. The game offers a way to PvP, but does not offer a way to make a living doing it. The dissatisfaction with most of the long term PvP groups shows this is the problem...and have either left, scaled back, or are attacking the game in ways to further annoy the community in an attempt to 'show the devs the errors of their ways'. Which means more players leave out of Open and the serious play moves into Private more and more. <shrug>

A PvP group loses BGS influence. Colour me surprised /s
Yes, but how else would people who probably did nothing to make it happen, gloat about a victory nobody except them cares about?

The one Code member I play with and talked to about this basically said "We did?". Like, nobody in Code pays attention to it.

I feel like the thread was really more of a subtle way to try and get a jab at the PvP/Pirating crowd rather then a actual proclamation of joy.

I mean, if you think about it. What use does a PvP group need of multiple systems? And even if they were pirating like they used to, again, what is the real need for control of multiple systems? There is no actual benefit for them, no discounts or anything.

We're a PvP centric group.. Even moreso than the Code and we still work our BGS. IMO that's why were given a faction.. To work it.
Working the BGS for the most active system in the game vs working the BGS for places that only Code players basically use. Makes total sense to compare the two.

Code does not share the same priorities as you and their systems are significantly less active, so why try and compare them?

I'm not asking for a way to earn a living by doing PvP strictly, but to make PvP interactively functional.

I've written several extensive proposal on this forum that doesn't show the devs the "errors of their ways" in the slightest, but instead on focusing how to improve the game as a whole for all kinds of players.

The point here is that "PvP players" aren't the entirety of the problem, everyone is a part of the problem since no one's ideal vision of the game is identical.

Sounds like you all need to move onto EVE where it's PvP 24/7 and there's nowhere to hide really.

https://zkillboard.com/ranks/recent/killers/

Some members have moved to Eve to create a corp. Some other stay in ED because they prefer to actually fly their ship instead of clicking things.

This was never meant to be a PvE or PvP argument. To say this game is strictly PvE is is pretty much false, given the tools we have. I was more or less commenting on your assumption that this place is going to be a happy space when the PvPers leave. The comments coming from self proclaimed "Care Bears" prove otherwise.

I wish I cared enough to bother reading this whole thread. Seems a lot of people are emotionally invested one way or another. I'm a little jelous.

Did The Code get board with things not going as much as they'd have hoped and move on or something? I'll kind of miss the pomp and fuss, second only to the open letters here on the forums.

Heh, that fight with me losing my anaconda was about a year ago and it was an 8v1. I actually watched it about 3 months ago before deleting it. We have had TONS of fights with you guys since then and you are far off base when you say that you were the toughest we've fought.. We've flight better groups and more than one at the same time. The BGS request came after we expanded out of Eravate and weren't aware that there was a 15% influence loss after expansion, which was a rule that was just revealed in the last few weeks.

Truth be told at one point a month ago we were fighting four player groups and fighting in the PVP tournament at the same time.. The same one that you didn't show up to fight us in. Your AA knowledge isn't exactly up to par with reality. We've always been based out of Eravate, but up until FDEV gave us a faction we weren't rooted there. We travelled CG to CG until we were actually given a home. Name any fight Code has had with AA where they actually won other than that 8v1 kill that they had on my I'll equipped anaconda about a year ago.. If that is your main victory, I'll let you have it.

By all means, cry about my groups use of silent running ships if that is what makes you feel better.. No one can beat us with our own builds, they've tried. By all means be mad that "piracy doesn't pay enough, that's why we broke up" I'll just tell you that player bounty hunting requires more skill and pays less. Face it, your group dried up when you allowed SDC to spawn in your TS. If code want to come to Eravate, I invite them. I'll post it on here too when we embarrass them. AA was around before you and exists stronger afterwards.

Either way you should probably relax.

The way the game progressed pretty much killed piracy. The Code was founded on piracy and piracy alone. The group does not have as much of an impact as it used to within ED. We are still a group, just not fully invested in ED anymore.

More false information spread. It was an 8v1 vs our Anaconda. We were anchored in and found 2 of your wings on top of ours. You popped while our Anaconda lived. As soon as you popped the rest of your boys left without a fight. A fight where The Code beat AA? Every single one.

You were fighting 4 groups at once? Welcome to our life since launch. Point is that kill was 1 year ago and AA never bothered to prod us since. You have very little presence in the game, no one sees you.

You might want to be careful about talking about embarrassing people. There is information that AA wishes to remain a secret, and it would be highly embarrassing for the group and you personally if it were to be released to the community. With evidence to boot. One thing I don't do is talk out of my second hole, Silk. I always have the Ace of Spades up my sleeve...Tread CAREFULLY.

You guys did not invent the silent build. People like CMDR Na'qan invented it and perfected a long time before the silent meta came out. You guys merely inherited and it when it became the meta has given you the ability to actually leave Eravate to PvP openly.

I'm just going to leave this here. Your TS when fighting SDC/Code and we lended you guys some ace CMDRs to even the battle for you.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJlX-kGA3Kw

AA made their announcement of being a group months after ED launched with a video showing you guys gang banging CMDRs in PvE fit in RES sites. The video was quite a riot for us to watch as the video highlighted shields being stripped, then cutting to someone waking out, most likely due to not being able to secure any kills. At this point The Code was well established in the Leesti/Lave cluster and were a heavy presence at CG's which you failed to show up at due to "Secret Squirrel Activities". Sure you remain, but will we ever see CMDR Silk flying around and leading his men? Or is he just a shadow of a leader, only making his presence known in forums in subreddits? Hmmmmmm.

I have had many...many...many interactions with CODE. My view of them has gone in the opposite direction than most players would assume. See....i am a trader at heart...and many many CODE members (old CODE) know me as such. CODE was (and still is) my arch nemeses as a TRADER. They have tried (sometimes successfully) to kill me (because i would not give up cargo...my own fault). One thing I have always loved about the interactions is it made me better as a pilot. My hatred of CODE went from absolute to circumstantial. In the beginning if CODE was doing something I opposed it with vehement opposition any way I could. Biggest example would be the WOLF DIAMONDBACK CG. But I got VERY VERY bored with trade...BUT I HAD MONEY...AT THE TIME....LOTS OF IT... so i built a shield tank python (great meta for the time) and ran down to Delaine space at the beginning of PP. Had some amazing (and pocket painful) interactions with PvP pilots from all sides..CODE being the most prevalent enemy. BUT....I became half way decent because of the guns CODE and associates bared against my Python. There are even videos of this hard core trader teaming up with CODE members just for the pure enjoyment of the PvP xpierence. CODE was, are and always will be villains ...but they did have a CODE....or at least tried to. I feel the game mechanics are more to blame than anything in the fall of the CODE. I miss their presence at CG's...those that have not the xp in that don't understand what I am talking about...but CODE does...it was not a slaughter fest...it was truly game immersion....cargo scans....disabling (not killing) ships...with a pass if you paid the fine...or not if you had the soccerballs to oppose it.

FROM A HARDCORE TRADER!!!

I MISS CODE!

I WILL STILL KICK YOUR DONKEY WHEN I CAN....BUT....IT WAS FUN!!!!
