cant start solo

It has to do with the bug that's keeping players from playing, couple of my friends said they only have access to solo play while I have no access whatsoever, and i doubt it's a coincidense.

Most interesting. This issue seems to be getting worse as time passes. I hope the fix passes cert' soon.
"Used" to have the preview? Did you buy Elite during the GPP, (Game Preivew Program) or did you only play the hour long demo? If you did own the game back then, did you get a refund, and only now re-buy the game at full retail price? How much did you pay now?

Also, can you maybe show a screen shot? So I can see what your menu looks like? Are the options for open and solo just missing, or are they grey/red?

Hmmm... That does sound odd. How long did the game take to install? Just going over all the bases. There's a small chance it's not done downloading yet, and that's why you can't play the full game! Also, obligatory, "have you tried turning it off and back on again?" Not sure what your Internet speed's like, but maybe try re-downloading Elite. Tell me, does it say, "Elite: Dangerous" in your games and apps section, or does it say, "Elite Physics Engine"?

I think this has to do something with the bug more players are dealing with at the moment. Timing is mostly unpleasant.
A fix is on its way, its bin tested. And now they are working around the clock with Microsoft to release it asap.

I was wondering this myself, if this had anything to do with the ownership bug going around.
Hello and welcome, going on what you have said, it sounds like you downloaded the Preview back in June, played the demo for 1hr and then on Tuesday purchased the Elite Dangerous Standard Edition Bundle.

If solo and open mode are missing, it's because the 'physics engine' thinks you only own Arena. This is likely to be a symptom of the bug that is preventing existing users from logging in - do you happen to own a lot of other games/demos and DLC ?
Yeah, you have the full game as you have Arena, Physics Engine and Elite Dangerous - this sounds like a symptom of the bug that is also prevent some existing players from accessing the game - we have a fix which we are working to release as quickly as possible. You should still have access to CQC & the training missions, and hopefully your initial experience hasn't put you off and you'll be flying around the inky blackness of space shortly.

Nope that's suppose to be there - Elite Dangerous on the Xbox is now a collection of Products, like it is on PC.
There's the Physics Engine which everyone gets, then the Arena Content (for CQC) and the Elite Dangerous Content, which is the full game and includes CQC.
Existing customers (those who purchased before Tuesday) only have the Physics Engine at the moment, but that (once this bug is fixed) should still give you the full Elite Dangerous Content.
New customers get to choose the Elite Dangerous: Arena Edition (for CQC) or Elite Dangerous Standard Edition (for the Full Game and includes CQC).

You probably can't talk about it yet but how will Horizons work in that regard? Will it be a separate DLC Add-on you can buy via Xbox's store, or the Frontier store? Or something else entirely?
