FDEV's attempt to cure the problem. HRP Meta dead?

It seems that FD is going to balance through variety instead of nerf batting things right and left.

It's the smart way to go IMO, but some folks you see balance as everyone running the same setup
will not be pleased.
 
Multiple soft counters is the best way to balance in my experience so I hope with 2.1 it will be a case of opportunity cost not just pick whats best. HRP's would be countered already if the hull damage specialized weapons weren't countered by silent running. If they added multi-cannons with twice the projectile velocity for example that'd probably do it one go, same for cannons etc.
 
Looks like silent run with HRP, well as SCB bulids may be not be so OP anymore.... I dont personally worry to much, its good time for such changes... I can see some folks having thier world flip upside down because of this, but most will adapt to new changes.
 
In all the history of gaming, rock, paper, scissors has never achieved any balance.

Rock-Paper-Scissors is nothing more than "Imbalance under consentment".

It's nice for solving 4-year old kids disputes, tough...

Shogun 2 is rock paper scissors at its core and is one of the best balanced strategy games ever made :p (to be fair you need an extra one, maybe stapler?)

I like this whole idea of lots of varitions for weapons and modules.
Like rock, paper, scissors, you never know how other pilots wil be equipped, will you equip a rock, and meet a paper, or will you be carrying the scissors, intriging gameplay coming soon.
Ridiculous idea. Rock, paper, scissors, lizard, Spock is much more applicable. :p
