Exploration - scanning planets, where's the result?

Hi guys, I'm doing the exploration CG at the moment, but this is a general exploration question.

When I scan a star, after the scan is complete I see what type of star it is, shown in the dispaly on the bottom left of the screen, the larger central area.


However, when I scan a planet, after the scan is finished, it just shows the distance and speed to the planet. No info on the actual scan.

You can got to the map to find out but this seems a bit bonkers, as you're sat there waiting for the scan to finish, hoping its an Earth like or whatever....... and I'm sure it didn't used to be this way. :-/

If you are too close to the planet then the distance info will show instead of description info.

On planets where you can land the hud for approaching it replaces the info, I hope they do something about that. Alltough you at least know that its not an Earth-like or any other planet with atmosphere, its something without atmosphere.

I think it might be better if the information was displayed at closer range though, if only momentarily.

I think Bomba is probably correct - I'm experiencing the same thing (no planet description) at 5,500 LS distance. That's not very close.
