Let's just hope for the beta there is a fast-track way to bypass all the engineer reputations and missions. While that is important to test, even more important in my view is the actual modifications themselves, and all of them should be thoroughly. Don't want to have some obscure modification discovered later that turns out utterly OP, or have people grind their behinds off for a rare modification that barely does anything at all.
Just look at how PP equipment turned out: some of it were mostly plain upgrades (e.g Imperial Hammer, Prismatic Shields), other's basically useless (the mining laser, the heat beam).
Assuming FD are set on this course for engineer mods = play lottery until A+ gear falls out, at least all upgrades should actually be useful, but at the same time none so overpowered that they make any other upgrade choice obsolete.
