1) better naval missions and progression: seriously Assassin's Creed 4 with their Naval stuff did alright with this. I believe "Assassination Missions" right now feel more "bounty
hunting" than the actual bounty hunting in-game.
2) atmospheric flight
3) walking around and enjoying a drink in a bar, talking with the NPCs working on my ship, dancing with the space station's Governor's daughter
- basically, if you take the mechanics of Assassin's Creed 4, or at the compromise at the
least Sid Meyer's Pirates (cutscenes vs real-time)- this would become a level of EPIC that is just mind-boggling.
I also think only 3, is very hard.
I love the ideas of NPC wingmen and crew, like Mass Effect in a sandbox
I love the ideas of progressive and scientific missions for exploration (ZOMG)
I love the idea of players having access to owning their own stations/asteroids/etc
I love the idea of player created missions and notes, like in Dark Souls or Evochron
for FDEV
But I also know a game development's limitations is hardwired to it's engine and development plan. I know they're building the foundation of a more in-depth game than just a "reboot of Elite" and I can't wait to see where it goes. As for the "haters"
(and I do mean the 'haters' not the guys trying to give constructive criticism - these are the guys that adamantly attack people trying to help the game with criticism as much as the guys just all out complaining)... meh. Every game/car/group/society has them. I've learned to just ignore them, and I hope you guys are too.

1) More and Deeper Science Based Gameplay for Explorers & More Danger in Deep Space (aliens, deadly black holes, flare stars, meteor showers, the works)
2) Actual tracking system for Bounty Hunters (No more RES camping please)
3) Being able to colonize new systems and develop and manage existing System dynamically through the BGS
seriously, this is why "top 3" is just so small...
