Slow FSD charge

Why is it then when i'm trying to flee from a pirate that's kicking my ass my FSD is really sluggish to charge? It happens almost without exception. I can't be near a large mass every time. Any thoughts?

Also, as the mass lock should drop off by the inverse square law, why does it take so long as I boost, boost, boost?
You see it to some extent, but it is painfully slow.
I'm sure FD have the physics right, it's just, well, y'know....

Interesting question. It should drop off far more quickly I'd think. I wonder if FD will chime in on this.

So keep the ships at the bottom of the scanner and put some distance between us?

Any tips you can pass on?

Mass lock will not slow you charging to high-wake (to hyperspace). It is slower than a normal charge to supercruise, but a lot faster than trying to go to supercruise when you are locked by an Anaconda, Cutter or Corvette.

If you are interdicted, quickly check the attacking ship. If it's bigger than you, select a system in the Navigation panel, then submit and immediately boost and jump to hyperspace.

I been wanting to know why this occur also? It bugs me out when I boost away but yet still cant leave but I have noticed since upgraded to the Asp Exploerer from Asp Scout it happens less often.

Have you tried turning it off then turning it back on?

Best course of action is to try and get as far away from the enemy as possible. Disruptive Mass slows down your FSD but the farther away you get the quicker your FSD will get again.
