Can I set my priorities in such a way that...

I can get my beam turrets (for example) to switch off to conserve complete power and get other weapons to use those full resources?

...Now I don't mean group switching because that doesn't solve my problem....do you know what I mean? Surely I can do that in this game?

Regards,

You want to know if you can stack loads of really high-powered weapons and turn them on and off in order to stop your whole ship shutting down, no?

You can, but you'll still need to switch something on to trigger them to switch off, and that module will need to be deactivated for the entire time you want to use the turrets.

Basically, put them on their own at the lowest priority that will keep them active with hardpoints deployed, but have a module (an SCB perhaps) switched off at a higher power priority than the turrets. When you switch on the SCB, the power demand will trip the power management systems and shut off the beam lasers.

Like I said, the drawback is that you have a module that is effectively useless most of the time and is only being used in very specific circumstances. Depending on the size of your ship, this might be a compromiise too far. Switching firegroups will be quicker.

of course...

You'll have to toggle them manually though. Make sure your turrets are at a higher priority (=lower number!) than the other weapons. When you disable the turrets manually, the power becomes available to power previously disabl;esd modules/weapons with a lower priority. If you gives us your coriolis build we can help you in more specific ways.

Regards,

If you mean 'does deactivating a gun increase the performance of my other guns' then no.

You cannot, but what you can do is set priorities so that you can trigger guns to come on when you turn off your turret.

As there is no cool down on weapons, its a great way to use stronger weapons and still be effective with different ships.

Post your Coriolis build and let me have a play

no you have to use firegroups. If you want to do it with power priorities its more work for you since you have to go into the ship panel and turn off a module to trigger the change.

don't use beamed turrets btw, they are awful.
