First i wanted to congratulate you to your new ''title''. :) But based on this forum, every other cmdr is griefer recently, so.......

And yeah, some people.....got to wonder whats going on in their heads.

At least the pair of you struck up a conversation

I took part in large PvP battle a while back at Brestla and my FAS was taken down to 3% no FSD etc and the Cmdr kindly asked
" do you have the rebuy " which I replied "yes" and then he duely finished me off, I often wonder what he would have done if I had said no.

Don't worry.
Can't imagine FD doing anything with this.
Killing other commanders is allowed, even if you were a hardcore player killer and not just defending yourself.

If your story is exactly as it happens I sure hope he really did not have the rebuy money.

That...and what are they going to report?

"I interdicted someone to pirate them and they killed me for no reason!"
"Killed me for no reason" -> they check logs, see he interdicted, and hopefully punish reporter.

Brings a smile to my face if this is simply what it appears to be be, an over-reaching, inexperienced Cmdr...however, we are see seeing several incidents like this pop up. Is this just the latest griefer tactic, like sidewinder ramming of speeders, designed to draw you in and use the rules against you, turn the table so to speak?

its a direct result of the game mode options players are grinding in solo gettting to a big ship thinking to themselves that means i cant lose against lesser ship coming into open with little or no knowledge of PVP and getting thier butts kicked and calling it griefing

Unless you got an email from him consenting to you attacking him you are nothing short of a griffin and should be banned forthwith. This game doesn't need players like you, this isn't the game for you etc etc etc

It's more likely people starting in solo (because this is now the defacto recommendation, or to join Mobius, because Open is evil) and having no experience of an actual, thinking opponent, the first interactions may not be - well - optimal.

You don't really need rebuy in Solo. It actually teaches people a lot of bad habits, that can lead to unfortunate experiences in open, such as expressed by the OP.

And it doesn't matter if you started out wanting to be a good guy, or bad guy; if you become acclimated to a thing, then you change the thing, the transition can be a bit rugged.

That was funny, even more so when I try to imagine the person at FD who looks at the report of this player and how he got griefed :D

Alltough maybe he wasn't actualy a Pirate, and more a Space Comedian?
