Yup, as I tried to say, they keep their release dates pretty close. The information is tight but informativ. Something others could learn from, maybe they should start to copy that one first.

Perhaps trying to preempt Frontier has either come back more negative or fell flat. I think most people see right through it so, to protect image, it would be best if they stopped playing the one-up game.

I doubt the CIG devs either know or care about ED releasing the engineers. Not sure what persistence and shopping (which ED already has if you count trading as shopping) has to do with basically being able to tune your ships. I'm being patient for 2.4. I have to be, my z97 MSI gaming 7 mobo is back to MSI for the second time in a year. That's the gaming rig attached to my sim pit....no engineers as well :(

Know a backer that went tour the Germany office just recently and had a chat with Brian Chambers. He said he was mind-blown on what he was shown related to PG stuff under NDA that CIG is saving for later announcements, also the roadmap related to it. Sad until the company officially pushes the info/footage out nobody else can leak anything, i mean, even if they did the devs wouldn't confirm.

Pretty much this: "So in your opinion do you think development is a lot further ahead than what most backers believe its at?"

His reply was: "Yes."

They've been bitten on the      quite a few times trying that trick, so maybe they've given up on that daft idea. ;)

That is good to hear, but just like the alleged terrain updates for ED, it is all just talk until we can see something.

I'm kinda burned out on the whole "it is going to look amazing" or "stuff we can't show you looks really good" sort of comments (both frontier and cig)

Maybe it is just the election cycle going on here in the states but all feel similar to Mr. Trump selling how America will look under President Trump...if I hear "it's gonna be great" one more time...

It's more from the backers who visit the studio themselves, ask the questions, get the answers and see through stuff they can show. But yeah if he says that after visit the studio he sees the development more further ahead than what he originally imagined, i just want CIG to show that to the rest of the backers, but knowing CIG they're likely saving stuff to show on bigger announcements for fuel the hype train.

Yeah seems about it. It's not a content update, yet more backend with some features. Persistence adds a bit more of replay-ability, specially on stuff as players with bounties on them (criminals) rewarding Alpha UEC currency that players will want to get, so that will add a bit of that gameplay loop that is expect-able.

As long as the augments rage on threads like this one then I don't think CIG need to worry. The people who post (on either side) clearly have passion for the game. It's when no one can be bothered to post any more and all goes quiet. Then they would need to worry.

"It's going to be amazing" Maybe, what lamp do I need to rub to get it?
"Our tech is light years ahead of others" Maybe, but you are still parked in the parking lot, so you better giddy-up soon.
"My Uncles granddaughters son saw it, but he can't tell because if he do, the sky will fall" I heard umbrellas will protect you, no?

Nothing anyone says they saw behind closed doors but can't actually talk about is worth a thing. Results count, not unspecific third party praise of things demonstrated in seclusio.

Well if you watch the stream, they talk about how they only stream SC and they wish the could stream other games. So even the guys getting payed to play do not want to play anymore.
