Distant Worlds Expedition - Announcements

i have a query

I am about 11K LY from beagle point (about 1K from WP22
Although I missed being at the initial start point I was able to get onto the overflow roster and have visited (and landed at) every waypoint along the journey in open mode - had some issues with my PC and had to reinstall the OS and so lost my teamspeak privliage key etc... did request a new key which never came etc... so continued along in open mode anyway...

My query is, when I finish the journey (sometime this month) will I A) be reckognised as an official finisher of the DWE? and B) be eligible for a DWE Decal?

Sign up on the arrivals list anyway, and send me a pm as well. When I get round to going through everything (fairly soon now), we'll take it into consideration [arrrr]

I've just arrived at Beagle, I'm not in the fleet as I wanted to make the trip myself (irregular play times and wanted to try it solo!) - I'm currently parked up at Base Camp. Hope to meet some of you at some point!

thanks for the reply, I made Desolation Ridge this evening and am now on the second to last leg of the expedition (the last leg of course being back in the bubble by December 1st 3302)

Did this thread fall off the sticky list? Or is just that it's now quiet and falling down the forum as a result? I'm sure it was stickied - DW isn't done yet. FGE are still 6 weeks out - I for one use this thread to find the next waypoint so can we re-sticky please?

Please bookmark it, as it has been unstuck as there will be very few announcements until the FGE fleet arrive, and we only intended to have it stuck until April. I apologise for the inconvenience

The FGE itinerary is something I don't schedule so this announcement thread is irrelevant now since it was geared toward informing the main fleet of what's coming next.

For the FGE/DWE flotilla, you can keep up to date with its schedule on this thread : https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=214875

Thanks guys. Its not the schedule I look at (the schedule I get from the FGE thread). Its the information around the actual waypoint....which system, which rock, the co ordinates, the background etc.

Erimus did such a brilliant job on it that it's really the go to (for me) [I would have liked the FGE dates to be bracketes after the main date for each WP detail, but thats nit picking).
I'd be surprised if I'm the only one using it and having it de stickied feels a little bit like those in the follow up fleet aren't really part of the mission after all, silly as it may sound.

Yes I've bookmarked now :) whinge over.

Good job Dr Kaii, nice words (and that departure ... genuinely moving). I'm sorry I wasn't able to join you guys on this extraordinary expedition (I just couldn't really commit the time to keep up and make the most of the meet-ups and other community activities) but I've been following your exploits through the pages of this forum and the wonderful newsletters, screenshots and videos that have been produced and just wanted to give a huge salute to everyone that took part. You have, without a doubt, added something truly special to an already amazing game.

Edit: sorry about the canned laughter, which rather cheapens my message (didn't have sound on when I posted) - the BIG salute was meant sincerely :)

Well I am finally in the ceeckia sector just passing through IN-D C15-1 and I hope to make beagle point within the next day or so depending on real life... hopefully tomorrow afternoon after work...

It has been a long and fairly fast paced journey but have found at least 13 previously undiscovered ELW's and it will be interesting to see how many I end up with by the time I take my leasurly and more in depth scanning trip back to the bubble.

I made it today... touched down and landed and drove around in my buggeh for a while...

The last 400 lightyears took me longer than the first 1000...

Woot!!! I think I will take a day or two break now from exploring and maybe visit the arena for some combat....

Congratulations, Commander! :)

Congratulations Commander! Hopefully you are going to meet one or two CMDRs still at Beagle Point, if not, the good soul of Big Beagle is always there! o7

It's up again! Final one this time! (I hope)

As I said, very sad to release the final newsletter. There will be, of course, more news from the FGE so stay tuned to hear from them! We wish you a safe trip home, yet fly dangerous and thanks for the adventure o7

A great final issue, summarising the trip, putting it into perspective and sharing lots of wonderful things that have happened. Try not to cry or anything! If you want to get them printed off, see here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=241571
