Where will you be landing first?

I've already landed on planets, obviously. First world was a rock in Tote.

But... When that fateful day comes & we might one day land on ELW's, I shall land on Stapled Peacock Flesh.

The closest available planet, I haven't seen too many that made me say: "when horizons drops I need to land here."

I'm slowly getting more and more hyped as each day passes. So maybe I'll take a look around Fusang's system map and see what looks best.

I should point out that the planets will drastically change in appearance when you install Horizons.

Many worlds look like potatoes, in a good way.

That's what I hear, but that will be my planetary landing practice ship. Not gonna risk my beloved AspX until I get the hang of it. Plus, with Engineers coming out as well, the Cobra IV can be upgraded.

Don't listen to the nay-sayers. The Cobra Mk IV is a glorious ship. It's as fast as an F-16 Fighting Falcon in a dogfight.

Of course it really shines in non-combat jobs.

yeah, I tried it on my laptop. Worked once! :) once I get a better computer I wanna use the PC commander to be an explorer. The only reason I keep coming back from exploring is because I want to pew pew all the time and it's impossible to find a match in CQC.

I'm more looking forward to zipping over a planet, and also trying to land on a High G World first go around on the Xbox will be a blast, I don't care if I lose a ship... or three. :)

Have we tried the same ship? It's the polar opposite of what makes the Cobra III such a joy to fly. It's slow, the manoeuvrability is tragic and the extra hard point makes little difference.

In its defence, it does pull some decent tonnage for its price. That's about the only nice thing I can say about it.

Algol A4... since I've mined the rings on that planet many times. I would love to look up at the rings from the surface...nothing more in it than that :)

Excels at mining, haulage, civil landings, and exploration on a regular trip to the core.

You're a combat guy, we all know that. So I can understand why you might dislike the ship.

I've always said the ship isn't for everyone. it's basically Marmite. I happen to love Marmite.

I want that ship just to have it. I'll likely love it for non combat roles as well.

Achenar 3, in a T9 full of beer with E rated thrusters.

Jk. To hell with that idea. I'll probably practice on a low g world like everyone else, then go find an engineer base.

If I acquire a Sol permit, touching down somewhere there would be a nice way to pop the Horizons cherry. I also very much like the idea of heading out into the black with a new Asp Explorer, and touching down on some far, far flung rock with a purty view.

...but for getting used to landings, I don't want to be 'trying things out' so far from the bubble.

So ideally? Somewhere in Sol.
Probably? Some wussy rock near a station in a cheap ship. ;-)
