Elite Dangerous: Standard Edition on sale. Does it contain Season one updates?

Standard Edition includes all 1.X updates.

For further clarification, the up and coming update currently in beta-1.6 will be included when released too..
Yeah, like Rob said, anything starting with 1. is considered updates to the base game, with 2.X being Horizons (aka Season Two) content.
Sounds really great! Now i havent played any space sim games yet, this game priced at 18 euro's currently is an offer i just cant refuse.

Horizons will be released SoonTM. That will have planetary landings, engineers, and a whole lot more. That's season 2 stuff but it has season one too so you'll have to buy that too if you want to have 2.xx content.
I just don't want you to get disappointed in 2+/- months time when you realize you have to pay again.
The learning curve is steep but there are people here to help you whenever you need it. Peruse the threads, ask questions and people will try their best to help.

Ah...this is a interesting game to get introduced to space sims on! Welcome to the very small but very passionate group of players...though the space sim seems to be trending towards mainstream lately.
Best advice I can give is take it slow, crash a lot and get blown up. Trash that sidewinder like the practice ship it is.
Don't get frustrated with the steep learning curve, the myriad controls and the ruthlessness of space. Learn from every encounter and before long you'll be just as dangerous as the next Commander.

I have watched a few tutorial missions, and i really like the sim part in it. Looks like so many tactics available, ea Engines, System and Weapon tuning (power).
Turning, Docking, shooting and so on. Looks like so much fun.

Thats probably the reason why its priced this low right now, but tbh, it doesnt matter. I need to learn this game first, and see if i like it before anything else so ya..

Of course, I was just giving you a heads up brother. It's a fantastic game to lose yourself in. I remember buying it when it came out of the Preview Program, I was given the 60 minute trial to play the tutorial missions, the hour was up before I knew it.
I hope you enjoy the game as much as the rest of us
