I'm just saying I don't have much(any) confidence in your proposal, and turning on the power in which my home system lies is not something I will do without a bloody good reason or incentive.

Hey there, I'm just a filthy neutral pointing out the flaws in his rebellion. 
Being a rebel against the Empire has a long and rich tradition.
