Reading some of the stuff people are saying there, is getting me really excited for 1.6/2.1, but is also making me said that I'm playing 1.5! Just read some of these comments... Our version sounds so inferior now!
"I spent only several hours in beta. I don't want to spoil everything for myself.
But when I fly around in 2.0, now, it feels dull and ugly. Missions? meh. Planet exploration? Why bother? No tire tracks and the boulders look hideous. Flying around? My ship is painfully slow and can't jump! Mining? The rings are painful to look at, without the mist and shadows, they have no... umm.. atmosphere.
I think I will have to stop playing until 2.1 is released. "
"I hopped into regular ED earlier and was surprised at how differently I viewed it.
Look a wake signal, nope doesn't matter. Ok over there a signal source, yeah those are worthless, I'm just going to keep flying to this base. Ok I've landed, look missions. Yeah no thanks, half of them don't work.
After I finished what I wanted to accomplish I hopped back into Beta. In 2.1 everything in game is more actionable. You may well choose to ignore them to focus on what you were doing but they have at least some more measurable use."
"Hey, when you have a bounty on your head, you get properly targeted, by challenging bounty hunters, and then the bloody cops show up, and they have now learned how to fight.
The mission icon in the left pane, that's a small but excellent addition.
Interrogating nav beacons if you don't have ADS.
Incorporating BGS gameplay into mission board dialogue. Not new concepts to some, but a great step for many, many players.
Scaling up the payments for certain missions, which will help in negating the Robigo rat run.
The need to now think through your outfitting carefully. FWS, collector limpets, etc.
There are lots more, but like the OP, too many to mention and it's time for bed.
Well done, FD, right on!"
"Landed in system and saw Comms ping, thinking 'here we go, I've been targeted...' but nope, 'CMDR, if you can deliver that in 10 minutes we'll bump your payout by 110k'.
Nice touch."
