New ships

With all the updates and Horizons nearly upon us I was thinking about one of the best things I love about this awesome game.. the spacecraft.

I know a few were added just after Christmas but have there been any rumblings of any more spacecraft for the near future?

oh and what type of ships would you like to see? :)

A new ship would be cool but the one I'd love to see most likely cant be added... The Explorer and the Star Wars fan in me would love this...

Long range and big hard points...

I'd say design a heavy class ship that is not very fast on speed or turning, limited firepower but can deploy 4-6 small fighter class ships such as f63 condor or imperial fighter.

There are mentions of more on the Wiki, one of them being another passenger ship like the Orca. Of course these are just rumours at this point.

There's nothing currently to challenge the Python as king of the multirole, an Imperial alternative... or failing that, a general alternative go-to ship for everything would be nice.

I want a ridiculous gunboat. Like a shield tank with 18 small hardpoints, 1 manouverability, no speed, tons of mass, and a long jump range.

Asp varient created as a dedicated exploration vessal. And by that I mean as a large ship.

Plz.

The Anaconda is quite decent for exploring... it's rather good at it with a near 40ly jump range and loads of space. Two SRV bays too, for those days when your enthusiasm in an SRV outrates your talent :)

I want a "Space Man O War" 100 hardpoint's on either side, limited to fixed mounts(facing straight away from hull for broad sides), all Medium! :p

This is creepy weird, but I'd been thinking about something very similar recently.
On one of the other threads, someone has been banging on about wanting the panther clipper, and on the wiki it says that it was redesigned with a reduced size closer to the anaconda, but was never implemented.
Now my idea was to re-redesign the panther, make it bigger, like capitol big, maybe also have an imperial variant, ana these would be the ultimate multi role vessels. They would come with fully fitted internals, as no station would have upgrades big enough, 20+ small hard points, same with utility's. These behemoths wouldn't be able to dock or land due to their size so would be fitted with 3 landing pads with hangers, 2 small and 1 medium. Ships would be needed to transfer goods to and from stations or the surface bases, and this could take a while to fill/empty the 5000 ton hold!
In combat it would be a whale acting as support for fighters to reload and repair (as long as materials are on board)
Exploration would have multi crews striking off in their smaller, faster ships to scan entire systems, and of course trade speaks for itself.
In order to buy one you would need elite in all 3 professions, and be stupid rich, I mean billions.
What do you think?

No.... I just want Anaconda-size ship's that handle the way a ship that large should(like a T9...EXACTLY LIKE the T9).

This! I love my Python because whenever I get away from it I find myself saying, "Man, the Python would be a good ship for this." I would love to give it some competition in the form of a dedicated imperial (or Fed or independent or whatevs) medium size multirole ship.I'm playing with Coriolis.io and the closest ship I can come up with is the Fed Gunship... but seeing as it is, well, a gunship, and that it carries far less cargo, the comparison is pretty weak.

I've been hoping for the Imperial and Federation capital ships to be added in a similar way, I'd love to be a support ship for an exploration team (the Majestic class Interdictor does seam more like an exploration ship then a combat one after all).

Capital ships are terrible.

Small boats are where it's at, b0ss.
