Same old Canopy troubles.

Just jumped into a Military Strike zone whilst doing a bit of PP, usual frantic hee-haw upon SC disengage where your NPC allies turn a blind eye to your damned situation of 4v1 lol, any way managed to pick off 2 enemy combatants whilst I then trained my guns on an Elite Python, only for a pesky ASP X behind me me off with some PA's, I knew at the rate I was taking hits my shields would go down and sure enough they did, what annoyed me more was the little toad burst my canopy inside 2 mins of being in the mixer, I still had 97% hull left and only those 2 kills under my belt and I had to bug out for a repair. Would not bother me as much if I had been face on with my foe, taking some hits from either Kinetic or Thermals front on, but to pop my front window from a rear attack after such a short space of time is gutter. I guess they don't know how to make toughened glass, anyone know of any stations selling screen protectors? Discounted of course. :)

Screens can now be fixed with AFMU's apparently... saying that, I've never tried it.

If anyone can confirm this that would be grand, heading out to do some real life work now, but keep me posted CMDR's if someone knows for sure, and I'll fit an AFMU in the morning.

I vaguely remember a discussion a while back... and I'm sure it was part of the 1.5 patch last December. Something to do with explorers and cracked canopies etc...

If you look in your modules panel, the screen and it's integrity are certainly listed there when they weren't before. Not sure if the AFMU will repair it when it's totally busted...once again, I've never tried it. You still can't repair hull integrity, which would be slightly helpful and make AFMU's of more general use other than to explorers...

It's true, I fix mine on a fairly regular basis. And all the cracks in the glass vanish too. And it even prevents embarrassing nappy rash :)

Well that's good news folks cheers, unfortunately on that occasion it would have been useless, blew right out no cracks just obliterated.

I suppose occasional checking in the modules panel might help noting any canopy damage after initial combat and then repairing... I'll try it out later.
