selling data, some thoughts

Don't recall if this has been brought up before but would some kind of sort tabs be of any assistance when selling data?

For example being able to sort pages by value high--->low or a--->z or in sequence of when they were scanned.

Why, so we can look up the value of specific scans prior to selling? If that's the objective I'd prefer a search function... but that seems like the wrong place for it. Then the information is available only once, during a time period when you can't do anything else (for risk of losing your data due to death). The right place for presenting this information would be a searchable\sortable\(queryable!) database of your own pilot's sold exploration history, including payout amounts.

A sell all button would be nice.. though I suspect it being there might have something to do with not overtaxing the servers. Not entirely sure how it works but I do think page by page is linked to server performance. Maybe an option that keeps selling pages automatically or something. I haven't yet used the new 50 systems per page thing, but since that's over 100% of an increase I believe it's a lot more tolerable now.

Being able to store our data modules at a station, so we can safely for do other stuff and not worry that we may lose our data would be good enough.

Selling data for 4 hours straight is not fun. A bit of "worry free" (for exploration data) pew pew to break it up would have been nice...

Z...

I shall be testing the 50 page thang on Friday. I shall have over 6,000 systems so will see how long it takes. I use the glass of wine technique. Put the glass over your finger which is over the mouse button and pour on the wine. The weight triggers the sale. Drink wine whilst processing, rinse and repeat. Its not quicker, but you soon don't care anyway.

Unless the servers are running slow, you'll likely finish before you are drunk ;)

Yes a search function (sortable and queryable) would be great but better tied into a database of what you've scanned/sold as you have said, which something I've asked for (along with many others) before. In fact it beggars belief that a database of our scans isn't already implemented.

Otherwise I'm just throwing ideas out there to see what comes back as who knows better how to deal with all this data than us explorer types?

@Whiterose:
I'll probably have a similar number myself on my return (I'm on the outward leg @34.5KLy) so I'll be interested to see your comments. I'm sure there's a drinking game in there somewhere :D

Iv covered this in previous threads.

The 50/page sell works fine & IS an improvement, but there is NO ORDER at all to how the sell list is compiled. Worst still, there is NO indication to how many pages you start off with & how many pages you have left.

It's still labour intensive after the first 150 mils worth of data is sold.

It took me nearly 6 hours to sell 7,200 systems. :p
Making screenshots of all the first discoveries + checking all the systems worth more than 200,000 Crds. (also only screenshots, the real check is still on the Todo List. :D)
