Rare trading profits?

So I'm getting kinda bored doing trade loops between bouts of Fed rank grinding, and I was thinking about getting into rare trading. My question is this:

How much are people making an hour trading rares?

The only info I could find was from half a year ago, at least, and I was looking for some more recent info. I'm not necessarily looking for your routes (although I won't turn them down :) ) just how much people are making at the moment.

They are alright. I would say use an Asp or Python for it and do collect as much as you can carry. It's something different. Not the same amount as trading or Robigo more comparable to somewhere between mining and BH I think.

The rares routes are only really worth it when your a new cmdr. There's a well known loop that will net you around 1.5 mil per loop in a t6. Great for rookies but not so much for a more established cmdr.

It's complicated by the random spawn quantity of the rares. I have a loop of about 12 rares stations on one side of the bubble which I cash in on the other side of the bubble. Sometimes I have to visit some of the stations more than once before the return trip to get a full 100 tons altogether. I get extra income by scanning systems along the way. It's about 1.6 million for the rares load, plus maybe 100k to 200k for the discovery data. It takes me 4-5 hours to do, but I don't try to blow through it as quickly as possible, and take lots of breaks.

rares make 15k to 24 k profit per ton at 150 ly distance. there are s0me, that have hefty maximum allocations - so you can make up to 500 k from a single load. but this requires some time sitting in a station, and pick up your spawn every 11 minutes (great, when you work from home :) ... anyway, for that reason you'll always end up making max around 1-1,5 mio/h.

you can find a lot of tools and routes in this thread: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=63119

my favourite route is the "all rares route" - https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=63119&p=3364166&viewfull=1#post3364166 --- a route to all 120+ rares ingame. i done that over 3 weeks last summer in a python, picked up a mission while waiting for market refresh, or using eddb.io to find the best trade out/in for the next rare station. not the most profitable, but very enjoyable occupation. boosts your exploration rank, too - and you'll see most parts of the bubble.

another thing which might be interesting is the illegal rares route from that thread. .... there is at least one engineer, who will only invite people who has a number of blackmarkets used - that rare route adds some to it!

enjoy!

just read you are sitting in a conda. profit of 400 T loaded is hard to beat. how about mining? in a ship like conda or cutter, this is very, very profitable.

Would be tempted to do that announce my location and hope for pirates but as I know probably half if not more of the actual pirates on Xbox it wouldn't be much fun.

You could do that? :O

yes, right after sothis gold was ingame, it had that crazy allocation.

read about a player group teaming up with another player group, loading anacondas in teams, and sending them over to the other player groups systems, to push influence and get rid of boom - both is depending on profit, and that is generating a lot of profit...

When I get in the mood for rares; I trade regular commodities in between rare commodity stations. It helps a bit for extra income besides the rares. I would post my rare route, but I have already posted it so many times, lol.
