System map broken?

It won't let me select anything, tried reopening it but still nothing, also tried power cycling Xbox and still nothing.

This is a known issue, however FD can't replicate it to fix it at the moment.

You just need to keep trying to reboot the game, or try another hard reset of the Xbox.

yes the above ^^ unfortunately

if it keeps happening you can use the search by name function in galaxy map and it will still select a system that way, or use the hud panel on the left of the ship to select next system to jump too, not ideal but at least you can still play if time limited

Hm, you shouldn't ever need to hard reboot the console to fix it. I've had the issue countless times, and have never fixed it by powering off - just quitting the game at the dashboard/home screen (press Start over the windowed app/game running, then select Quit, then relaunch Elite).

yea this. obviously hard resetting your xbox would close all games and apps also but if its an issue with a specific game or app you should be able to just close the game or app in question to fix the issue.

Did you turn off the grid in view filter? That also disables the selection marker.

Opening the system map with head look toggled on can cause it. I can reproduce it on a regular basis.

Depending on how often I am in and out of the system map on a given night, I'd say it happens three or four times a night. It lets me pan around the map but not select anything. Leaving the map and toggling head look usually fixes it for me.

I went through this today. Lasted for at least 6 hours. Logged on and off of the game and xbox on several occasions and it still happened. It was buggy as hell later tonight. Sucks too because I was coming back from my first exploring trip and I couldn't tell if I was in undiscovered systems or not.
