Is the FAS rank locked?
Yes. Chief Petty Officer in Federation, or rank 5.

Ahh okay.. I'll stick with my FDL then.
Erf ...It looks like the FDL is getting a heat nerf in 1.6 so SCBs may need heat sinks
Erf ...
Edit : The Courier is great, it has insane shielding for its size, making it an awesome RES farmer, especially for its price (A-grading it is a bit expensive though).
It costs about half of a "A-graded" Vulture. And a Vulture is arguably way superior (I understand while one wouldn't like it though).Expensive? Beauty of the courier is everything's effective because it's small (no snickering, please!). All the modules are around C3 and below, so a fully outfitted one should be coming up around 10 mill. Mine fought with a rebuy around 300k and still kicked serious backside![]()

Also, please note I said "a bit"![]()
Having flown both the Pitbull and the Courier extensively, I can safely say that, while the Pitbull definitely lacks subtlety (as its name suggests), it IS a much better brawler all-around. It has better firepower, better maneuverability, and better survivability (even counting SCBs on the Courier, which it definitely needs).
That being said, the Courier indeed is awesome. And I have fond memories of this ship. But the Pitbull is just a more efficient killer all-around.
What's a Pitbull?
a pitbull is a) a dog b) a tractor brand and synonym for those kinds of machine c) a very good description of a vulture: highly functional combat tool without any "finer" characteristics.

I posted a video a couple of days ago of me in a Courier vs NPC Anaconda. Some people complained (as they do) that I didn't use FAOFF. Well in that thing I didn't need to. I don't think the Annie had a single shot on me either - it didn't have turrets so that was that.
I stayed behind it until it ran away on 8%
While I totally see your point, believe me when I'm saying I spent a lot of time flying a Courier as my only ship while engaging in a lot of miscellaneous activitiesThis isn't really the right place for this discussion - the OP was after a comparison on two different ships, and I won't say any more on the matter after this. But while we're here, I'm seeing a lot of brashness and no evidence you've actually become acquainted with the iCourier.
