Remember to add VAT (the US prices are always shown without tax), which turns 484 into 580. So we're getting done for £40 which is still not good, but it doesn't look as bad as the 484.
Make that the entire continent of Europe (not specifically EU), or in my case, the Netherlands. Yes, but mostly by the government, rather than the companies and the exchange rate.
I was planning a 1080 reference/founder (I like having the hot air blown out the back rather then into the case), but at that price I'm going 3rd party.
Lol, unfortunately not. The 1080 is stronger than any card before at 4K, but it's not up to 4K at 90FPS for two rendered images.
Those with 980/ 980Ti will likely choose to wait, while earlier 600-700-series owners (like me with a 780GTX) will see a near-doubling, or more in performance.
I'm hoping the 1080's horsepower will keep ED/Horizons at 90fps in VR even on planets; with 25-30% more than a 980Ti on tap I think that's a reasonable bet.
I haven't seen ED used (or much VR) in any review yet.
Buy locally. If you have issues you can return it locally for a replacement without having to fill in twenty customs export forms.
Over here in Holland we have that same issue. But either shell out and be an early adopter, or wait until the 3rd party guys like MSI and Gigabyte release their builds, i'm sure the price will get competitive.
