Horizons

This has probably been answered what ships do you require to transport the mako like ground vehicle. ......can't remember the name of it.

Any ship will do.

You'll need to use one of your size 2 internal slots to install an SRV hangar.

Are we getting any other updates I'm on wife's iPad..eastenders is on lol what's the commander update?

Your purchase of Horizons will grant access to versions 2.2, 2.3, and 2.4 in the coming months.

2.2 will allow you to deploy fighters from select ships, and it seems passenger missions will also be part of that update.

2.3 will see us being able to create a personalized avatar out of our pilot, and also will bring multi-crew on ships.

2.4 is yet to be detailed.

That is pretty cool I always feel a bit lonely playing elite I wish they would even put some humans"or not" in the windows of the buildings next to landing pads

I've had a close enough look at the textures to tell you that Elite isn't ready for that level of detail yet. :)

Pft, stick men/women would be better than nothing!

Each time I touchdown at a station and peer at the windows of the control towers, I wonder if I've arrived when everyone's somehow popped out...

Apropos station interiors: I checked out Obsidian Ant's debug/VR look from the top of the towers, and that is an experience I'm so looking forward to - being able to stand outside the ship, or up on a vantage point to watch ships dock and depart. There's a great sense of scale. Though in a speculative reality, I can't imagine civvies being cleared to just stand around in the open like that. Also, whilst I gather the interiors model a limited pressure atmosphere, pilots would surely still need their helmets and suits.

Still, it's content like that which I'd much rather FD work on implementing than, y'know, ships, weapons, or missions. Immersion > gameplay? ;-)

Just seeing people walking around would add loads to the atmosphere of the game. NPC crew walking around your ship, walking around it yourself would allow you to play a more real character.
I've always imagined a scenario where we dock our ship, walk down the ramp into the corridors of the dock to find a smoky bar full of scum and villainy. Sit down at a table, speak to a shady looking guy and get a quest to smuggle weapons.
Maybe one day.......

My dream... And then to burn out of the bar drunk in your buggy on an ELW... Oh my...

So someone explain to me the whole multi crew deal... Riding shotgun in someone else's ship?? What do you do?

From what FDev has said so far. Your co-pilot would be able to manage your systems (Allowing you to concentrate on flying the ship) take control of your turrets if you have any & launch and take control of ship launched fighters among others things.

When that day comes I will be moving to PC and buying a VR headset. Probably before that day actually, assuming I can afford it.

I'm hoping that Xbox get vr eventually. Alternatively, I could always hope that PSVR, when it's released, will support Elite (for when it's launched on PS4).

Only VR I'm aware of on the Xbox side of things is the Hololens & the somewhat loose support for Occulus Via streaming the game to your PC and then through Occulus. Neither would give the full VR experience I'm after sadly. PSVR looks nice though. PS4 is something I am hesitant to delve into right now though with the announcement of that PSNeo thing at least until more details are available. However I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft does the exact same thing themselves. They're just being a bit more hush hush about it letting Sony make the first move and see how well it goes down with the fans.

I only have elite on xbone was gonna wait for it on ps4 but couldn't wait I think they will probably wait till the new ps4 neo? Machine comes out would love a good pic setup but funny money for a good 4K setup.

The specs for the PSVR are NOT encouraging. Very poor framerate apparently, possibly even low enough to cause motion sickness. Also, poor resolution. The price point is great, but I won't be investing.
As for VR on Xbone, Hololens is a concept car basically, kind of like IllumiRoom. But, I expect Msoft will introduce VR support once the price point drops and a clear winner emerges. That's my expectation anyway.
