Is there a faction for explorers?

I've yet to pledge myself to anyone. Kinda hazy on how it works, tbh. I was wondering if there's a galactic power that would benefit me as an explorer of the galaxy.

Any suggestions? =)

I think all available factions would benefit.. Exploration data pays well when delivered especially if you have a detailed surface scanner as part of your equipment.

If by "power" you mean powerplay, as an explorer why would you want to expose yourself to powerplay hostility? Join one of the player groups. Several of them like to receive exploration credits for their BGS acivities.

This is unfamilar to me...
What are those and how do you join? Or is it simply something like a clan?

If your an explorer I wouldn't pledge to powerplay for any reason unless your running a fully kitted out combat/explorer.
