Newcomer / Intro Commander Name Availability

Not a Newbie, but feel it's very much a Newbie question, hence posting in here...

One of the Kickstarter reward levels was the opportunity to reserve the Commander surname of Jameson. Now that the game is fully funded and up & running, can new players use Jameson in their Commander names?

Is there somewhere to check name availability not in game?

I thought that Jameson was never available. The ks rewards allowed reservation of a specific commander name (other than Jameson)

Pledge £1,500 or more...

Be a “Commander Jameson” - have a reserved commander name* xxxx Jameson (eg Commander Peter Jameson etc) – first come first served on the forenames - plus all rewards above.

So, now that the campaign has ended could I choose one of these if it is still available?

seriously seriously doubt it. I think it'll be blocked out completely considering some paid crazy amounts of cash for that pleasure. cant' say for sure though.

That's what I thought, just wondered.

If you'd backed to that level only find that Jameson was released later on you'd be pretty peeved to say the least!

Prestige, it's the original name used for your character in the original Elite.
