Ok, so I suggested Deep Recon X (X for Xbox, and for eXploration, a little clumsy yes, but distinctive enough, I hope) aka DRX.
Motto (Fiducia in Tenebris - Boldly into the darkness) for our agreed-upon, brand-spanky-new, deep space exploration team.
So I'm putting it to a two-day poll (To take account of our various time-zones). Like it, or suggest an alternative, and let's forge on to a bold future Drinking the Ink together!

I'm happy with DR-X.

And the motto is good too :)

Ah, now, is it DR-X or DRX. You've raised a slight but pertinent point. DR-X distinguishes us from the DBX acronym, but does it work with the X meaning both Xbox and eXploration?
No, let's not have another poll for the sake of god's backside, But, what do you other members of this 'name-TBA' exploration team think?

Wasn't Dr X Action Man's nemesis?

LOLZ You've just betrayed your age. AM's nemesis was the Germans originally, and all the weapons etc were real-world-based. Then came 'Hey AM's battling a giant squid in his one-man sub' - I hate it - rubbish! Then came SPACE! Ooh Star Wars etc 'Hey AM's keeping space safe' in an ill-fitting, floppy rubber spacesuit.
And does anyone remember Action Man's answer to the Bionic Man? - Atomic Man. Ok, hardly original, but I had the Steve Austin (no, not that Steve Austin, the flabby original!) 'action figure' and I can categorically state that Atomic Man was better. Just too late and without a TV show. Oh well.
AND THEN... he met Dr. X. hehe

Haha yeah I immediately thought of Dr. X when reading it. What about DRX1 or something for the Xbox one and being the first to discover stuff? Just a thought, keeps the DRX intact.

I think I like this. BUT, we'll look a bit silly if we're not 1st to a discovery. Plus, it sounds a little like there's more than one DRX. And we all already know there's only one DRX!*
*name subject to change upon the results of this poll. Vote or put up if you don't like what we come up with. Yay! Democracy!

SO given the prevalence of childhood Action Man-related trauma in some of our members we're agreed to ditch the '-' right? DRX, NOT DR-X.

Looking at it now, I have to so I agree, it does look like Dr. X a bit too much. Yep, DRX. Until, of course, someone else comes up with something better...

DRX sounds good. I've already been assigned a mission that will keep me out of the bubble for most of June and a little of July so I may not be able to commit to this one

It's not intended to be a one-off. This is not a 'DW trip to Beagle Point'-type thing. This is a fluid, but semi-organised group of willing CMDRs travelling solo, in small groups, or en masse, towards common exploratory goals. Things will become clearer very soon. Promise.

In that case, count me in

I like DRX.

Then again, Deep Space IX (Intrepid Explorers) seems just as good. :3 (Sorry, I had to, I'll see myself out. XD )
