Either we're talking about the same long window or there were two of them. One was stopped by the release of 2.0, and people did receive refunds up until this deadline, when it was stated that the significant part of the game has been released.

It was a decently long refund window, they started refusing refunds again, with the release of 2.0, so who asked for it near that, may have not got it. Refunds are still issued as some people report, but it's far from the same it was during that window.

To be fair, 3k is nothing in the 120M grand scheme of things!

I find it ridiculous how those so-called "accounts" are 4 sides of paper including the cover sheet, and how the profit/loss account is conveniently missing from all their UK companies, and how they still manage to qualify as "small companies" exempt from being audited when they clearly exist as part of a 115 million dollar organization, especially one that claims to be focusing resources at the UK to get SQ42 made.

I hope their 2015 accounts are more of an entertaining read.

Gah - it's always the same - we end up arguing about the definition of this or that word, what someone did or didn't say or did or didn't do.

But silently in the background the "game" is persistently mocking us with it's janky comedy bugs, ludicrous performance and missing or back burnered features kicked so far down the road as to be virtually extinguished.

And outfitting - with trousers that don't work!

Still - at least the guy with his head up another commando's 'arris unlocks the Uranus joke..

I'd love to get a refund on this car crash, heres the rub though. I cannot be f@#$ing bothered arguing with CIG customer "services" about whether I can qualify or not. I spent £200 on this in 2013 and while I don't need that money its beyond irritation to think that Roberts and co have it and will put me through the grater to hold on to it. So I've rationalised the money by thinking that its helped regenerate the genre and better more competent more professional more effectively managed and more trustworthy companies will produce better game project than this con artists wet dream. 115 million dollars and nothing to show for it except a complete mess or product that is unlikely to ever amount to anything.

Nobody is stopping you, from giving your money to any company you want, and have fun with their games. Go have fun instead of being full of anger about one videogame, the point of games is having fun. :)

Of that I have no doubt. Hopefully Yaffle or someone more qualified than me can tell us what all this sort of thing means. Numbers other than +/- 12V DC mean nothing to me :D

As for asking for a refund - personally I won't do so as I want to see what finally appears at the end (if anything) - but those who do seek refunds should definitely be given them, one way or another.

I was going to react "poorly" to this obtuse advice and give you some equally obtuse advice in return but ill not bother. I have the right to be upset as a customer about regretting giving money in good faith to a company like CIG. I wish someone had stopped me giving that money at the time. Instead I'm happily telling other people on other forums and real life about my experiences with this rubbish to save them the trouble. The project is a disgrace but at least its kickstarted more effective and competent interest in developing the genre.

Your defense of this car crash is beyond ridiculous.

You are upset, you have the right to be angry and have your own reasons. I like Star Citizen, i'm able to having fun while playing it, bugs and all included, witch is the point i buy games for (entertainment value products), and i like the direction it is taking. As you are entitled to your views and opinions, so am i to mines. It's nothing but a video-game at the end of the day, and i hope you have most fun whatever games you end up playing, as, that's the whole point.

Now don't ask me to agree with blown out of proportion dramatization, to make anything look as bad as it possibly can, because i won't. I firmly refuse it.

Here here, if nothing else it has helped me appreciate the efforts Frontier go to in order to maintain a reasonable standing with the community. They've obviously had to learn a few lessons along the way but for all the gripes I have about the game at times, t hey are at least publicly addressing them with a large degree of transparency.

I will be utterly amazed if Star Citizen ever comes to fruition. How ever it seems more and more probably that this is simply a con.

I won't be asking you anything Max. I'd imagine doing so would be like dealing with CIG customer services, it would be an irritating run around with a refusal on the end like above.

:)

Well said Sir....but hey isn't that's possiblly exact reason why he is upset???...maybe he can't find it FUN to play that twitchy mess....

I can play it, and i can have fun with it. If you don't, well, i'm sorry for you! Star Citizen will not please everyone, it just can't, the FM might be the deal maker or breaker for you, it isn't for me, it can play it like that, it can play like ED, i work with both. Opinions vary a lot, your right ends up being someone else's wrong, and as i am quite neutral on that aspect, i just watch from the distance 2 trains going on the same track on opposite directions that can't agree with each other, while some of them ended on an ocean of salt because the devs have chosen their path, one that goes against their expectations.

It's not just a matter of taste... It's objectively broken.

It IS a matter of taste, people are wanting things that can't happen together, i just face-palm over when first it is "no mass, everything is too maneuverable!" then it is limited and others go angry about it (while others still complain it is too twitchy), then the devs make one update on the FM that they're going to get into add more maneuverability to ships, witch is where the direction currently stands. It's not going to please everybody, they need to focus on what they have and make over fixing, polishing and so on, focus on something fun to play with, and not super duper realism blah blah original scope blah...

It's not the issue only the FM believe me I could even live with that if it was some honesty from CR.....The biggest problem I have with CIG is the LIES-FALSE advertising and TRICKERY from the almost very beginning of this project to these days...You see for 30+ years of my gaming experience I learn to respect genres&types of games that are not my cup of tea but I WILL NOT PAY&PLAY THEM....SC was advertise as something completely different and bit by bit went in totally opposite direction....+ as soopyyy said above It's objectively broken....

By that logic we could have put Frontier on court, because they dropped the Offline Mode and it was promised.

It's nothing but details, such happens constantly around games, how can such things even stand on court? Maybe on Derek Smart's imaginary court cases and FTC investigations that were supposedly already ongoing.

They never promised it, they said that they would like to do it.

Nowhere on the kick starter campaign page does it mention anything about off-line mode. it was added later and not promised and set in stone.
However it was handled poorly for sure.
