Some of my small practical ideas coming right now.

- Use shoe wax and body lotion to refresh your old leather jacket, and restore its color. -basically good for any kind of leather cloth.

Remember the old joke about tooth brush and army restroom cleaning? Well, actually its not a joke after all tootbrush is perfect to clean off the dirt and dust from any hardly accessible places, like the deep gaps of a heat sink right?

- So, if you don't have dust off spray to clean the circuity and cooling fan of your PC try to use one old tooth brush, to clean it. i personally also use it after the dust off spray.
- You can also clean off the keyboard.
- Or the disposable razor in this way you can keep using that cheap one time use thingy for moths if you smart enough to keep it dry. - A water yet can also help in there just use your thumb in the facuet.

You didn't explicitly make a point of it, but I sincerely hope you are not brushing your teeth with that toothbrush after all those cleaning jobs...
Also, if your arms ache after too much gaming, or too vigorously swishing that toothbrush over any surface or crevice, eat some cherries; they are a natural anti-inflammatory.

I said old toothbrush. (beginners help of meaning; out of use) :D

And seriously... how cherry comes there?

I usually pour a tiny amount of boiling hot water from the kettle into my coffee mug in the morning before making the coffee itself, so when you take it to the sink to clean it, the dried coffee has already dissolved from the heat. Clean mug in a few seconds.

Oh, and if you're looking for a decent instant coffee mix, add in the following ratio: [3 : 2 : 1 = Coffeemate : Sugar : Coffee]

Another one: If your electrical devices fail, check the capacitors (if they're bulging or leaking, they need replacing). I've fixed all kinds of things from routers to TV's by simply replacing a capacitor here or there. Capacitors cost virtually nothing and can be swapped out with a soldering iron, a bit of solder and about a minute of your time. Just make sure you get the polarity correct otherwise it'll blow up, and be careful you don't touch a charged capacitor. Even a small one can give you a potentially fatal electric shock.

Not sure I'd want to use a toothbrush for this as the brushes could be brittle or stiff and cause tiny scratches. Better to use a soft paintbrush (but if it has a metal bit at the top of the handle then wrap masking tape around it).

@Marra!
House made hamburgers.

- Try to fry it in teflon pan instead of grilling, or some oily old junk. Also a good idea to add a teaspoon of margarine just for the taste, and after its fried you can toast the backs of roll in the pan with the gravy left by the meat.
Tasty! :)

@surfinjo!

It's a waste of a perfectly good coke! :D You can drink it too! :p

@Glyne!

- There is a little trick if you boil water in a electronic kettle for tea, to get it right the teawater temperature. add about 1/4 worth of cold water to you glass before you pour in the boiling water. ;)
If your kettle is became too dirty with limescale try to boil some vinegar with water, its dissolves within seconds. (chemical reactions, the hotter the temperature, faster its works)

But if you absolutely have to drink coke or any other kind of soda, and include fruit juices in there also, make sure to use a straw, so most of it passes your teeth without adding to the daily acid attack. Makes that old toothbrush last longer :D

edit: the toothbrush part is purely rubbish of course, but the acid part is not...

There is a joke about forumites and changing a light bulb have you heard it? :D

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed
14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently
7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs
1 to move it to the Lighting section
2 to argue then move it to the Electricals section
7 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs
5 to flame the spell checkers
3 to correct spelling/grammar flames
6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb" ... another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid
2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"
15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct
19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum
11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum
36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty
7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs
4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URL's
3 to post about links they found from the URL's that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group
13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too"
5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy
4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"
13 to say "do a Google search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs"
1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and start it all over again.

When making scrabble eggs, do NOT add milk, just don't.

There is NOTHING decent about coffeemate.

The free bottle of coke you sometimes get with take away Indian food is great for cleaning the lime scale from the toilet.

This should be the only use for coke.

Since my birth, I do not know the eggs with oil

:)

You really should go to Scotland and try a Sunday Morning breakfast.

Eggs, Black pudding, Lorne Sausage, bacon, tomato, all fried in dripping with fried bread rolls to soak up what remains in the pan.

Plus, a copy of the Sunday Post and a can of lager.

Cigarettes are optional, but strongly recommended.

Literally, a breakfast to die for.

You never eaten mayonnaise? :O

So of course, I meant cooked eggs

:)

I died of fun, just thinking about it

To boil a little of javel in the water, allows to whiten all the pans and the cups as if they are new
I'm going to have to look up what javel is now! If it's only available in France, then I may need a trip on the ferry to get access to this tip :)

Isn't that an omelette then? :)
