Finally got my Conda decisions, decisions ?

Well i have done it after 2 months grinding away, i purchased a lovely shiny new Anaconda, i have added all the trimmings for Bounty hunting on her at the price of selling my beloved Python, that i hope to buy back when i become wealthy again lol

i still have the the re buy cost a few times over so all in all pretty happy.

The big question is do i deck her out for Horizons to explore or shall i use my trusty Asp Exp when horizons lands and keep Annie for strait up fighting?

Whats your thoughts

I've done the same, although not so much decked out for combat atm... currently using to grind fed rank at tun and imperial at curbeo, and imperial slave trading around Pancienses, 330t making about 1.8m per trip. aim to have the ranks and credits (hopefully) to get cutter or vette before horizons

i have seen a few pilots flying an anaconda in combat really great, and terrifying... but in most cases you'll do better in other ships.

on the other hand - i love my explonda, and it is a great floating feeling to steer her through systems, and jump very far ... maybe i have spent to much time in AspEs, which are the vultures of explortion so to say - so: I'll say take her out, the anaconda! and in 2.1. her jumprange will help you earning serious money in trade.

cool so i have not wasted my money then?

i did love my Python and this was the next natural progression i thought, it does seem very devastating in the HAZ REZ

I have had an Anaconda for over a year now (I play in the PC Galaxy), and while I have used it in combat, it is somewhat lacking in manoeuvrability, so Combat Zones and Hi RES farming are out (normal Nav Beacons and RES points are OK), unless you are feeling very brave. However, trading works well (and when I was working towards the LHS 3447 Station CG I was earning over 1.6Mcr per trip).

Not at all mate. The 'conda is a fantastic multirole that does very well at whatever pursuit you set it up for. Its strongest point is long range exploration, thanks to its insane jump range, and it will make you a mint trading (I can make ~10 million an hour on a decent route). All that with enough firepower to be a strong combat vessel.

IMHO the big 3 cover all pursuits - 'conda for exploration, Cutter for trading and Corvette for combat :)

The conda is the best all rounder, not necessarily the best at any one role.

Trading in it will be very profitable, for little additional outlay. Some people love it for combat as well (though it costs a lot to give it a good combat spec), personally I prefer something more maneuverable for combat.

Your best bet is probably trade in it for a bit, then switch things around and try a combat loadout you can afford and see how you like it. Then go from there.

It makes a very good exploration ship, great jump range and loads of good internal slots, so you can't go wrong on that front.

The Anaconda is perfectly fine for all types of RES and CompNav farming. Its lack of speed and manoeuvrability is offset by its huge firepower. You might not make money as quickly as you would in abother ship, but it's certainly capable of dealing out death and destruction to NPCs if you fancy a break from trading or exploring.

I've had my Conda for a short time after also selling my Python and tried it in a variety of situations.

In Conflict Zones I do OK until I get 3 ships on me and then I have to make plans to get out. I average maybe 20 mins before I have to jump out.

Haz Res is fine, pick your fights and time it e.g. after Wanted scans you and then turns off so he's not facing you and looking for another target. Better still you can take longer approach of waiting till target attacks someone else if you want to play safe but can be painful.

Trading I find is the most profitable and as long as you're happy to grind for credits then more power to you. If you get interdicted then it's easy enough to fend off.

You've not wasted your money at all, it can do everything if you're happy to take time to tinker with loadouts.

I loves it I do.

I used to have a trade Conda, but yesterday i outfitted it as battle conda, went to a CZ, and i must say i had a helluva time. It sure as hell can take a beating, and ships popped everywhere around me.

You need to play with the pips and speedometer to make it turn though.

I have all pulselasers and one huge PA.. Works like a charm, in the 2 hours i fought in the CZ, i never had to go back to rearm, my repair bill will 150k, and my profit 5.6mill

I would expect nothing less though, this ship outfitted costed me 550mill.. Without the A8 powerplant (dont need it either) and the Militairy bulkheads

Sure.

Apperently i miss calculated the totall cost's of my Annie.. But this is my build as soon as Horizons drops. Now, i have a HRP instead of the SRV hangar bay.

Also, it depends on my missions if i replace the class 4 HRP's for fuel limpets, or other modules i need at that time. But the 7 and 6 slots are pretty much fixed.

Someday if i have more money, (since i didn't wanted to sell the Python for it) i will buy me the best powerplant so i can outfit it for all types of situations.

I use gimballed because they have a better ROF, and DPS.. And i have no real issue to stay on target.. (playing with the pips, and speedometer, and sometimes FAOFF)

As a trader, i used turrets though.
