DRX works for me. This will be my first deep space exploration. Time to watch ED Exploration for beginners videos. ACES is cool too though.

DRXX?
DReXX, DRaXX, DRoXX, DRiXX, etc?
Utilize both of the X's maybe?
I like DRX, but agree that it is awfully close to DBX (nothing wrong with that. I've spent more time in a DBX than anything else!)

DRX is fine

Ive got to get some practice in too, havnt played in 3 months or so. Looking forward to getting into my cobra in the morning..

Only an hour remaining on this poll... Have your say.
Also any thoughts on the motto.
I had come up with 'Fiducia in Tenebris' Which I was led to believe was 'Boldly into the darkness' but on checking again that was a mis-translation, so...
Instead we have 'Fiducialiter in Tenebris' Which means 'Confidently into the darkness'
OR
We have Armholeeio's suggestion 'Et lux in tenebris quaerere' meaning 'into the dark seeking the light' (though when I checked I got 'In tenebris lumen quaerere')

Speaking for myself I like Armholeeio's suggestion but I have no clue how to pronounce 'quaerere', whereas I can just about manage 'Fiducialiter'.
What do you guys think?

D
Motto should be "Unicorns are great & we should bow in their spectacular glory, thanking them for the life we have been given".

/jk :D

The Exploration Group For People With No Sense Of Direction!

Kind of roles of the tongue, what!

So do we have a winner? :)

I'd have taken you more seriously if you had written ' I think this does somewhat roll off one's tongue, what!' And despite my disapprobation your suggestion has simply come too late to gain sufficient traction.
Also, I still might not have quite forgiven you for your alien-sympathiser epithets directed at myself recently. And note I have not forgotten your lack of reply to my gauge being cast in your direction. I demanded satisfaction, and you, sir, did not reply, adding insult to injury.
Ah, but let bygones be bygones, it's all forgiven.
Still your name suggestion will have to be kept to yourself. But even that's ok, DRX is here to help (hopefully) by providing a sense of direction for those that wish it. :D

Bloody hell, you're keen, aren't you?
Yes, that hour I mentioned was indeed 'up' three hours ago. But with the odd hours I keep I was busy going shopping and cooking dinner for me and Mrs. Iconoclypse, or 'Lee' as I like to call her.
But yes, I'm not sure how I feel about my original suggestion somehow becoming the defacto winner. I seriously don't want to railroad this thing, but....

DEEP RECON X (DRX) is born.

A deep thank you to all who liked the idea over on https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=253048 enough to participate in deciding a name for a group which will now find a more formal life.

So what bit of Latin are we using and are we getting a fancy decal to add to the bottom of our forum posts? Like this ?
