Powerplay Faction: Zachary Hudson Boring and Bludy tedious

I am sorry lads and ladesses, and with all due respect to those who are working hard with strategies and such: you are a good bunch; but powerplay is just becoming so bludy tedious, and for this person anyway, really meaningless !

This is not a rant, just simple frustration at the same mindless chore of week in and week out having to maintain enough toilage to get a simple reward on Thursday. In fact its becoming so much like the rest of my working week accept I get actual money for the other chores the end of that week.

I have tried hard to understand the powerplay strategy game but it still looks all kind of lost, wishy-washy and quite meaningless. Damn I said that again. I think I need a holiday from it..

Respect to you strategists.. keep up the good work, hopefully ED will give it some more meaning one day.

I agree, I thoroughly understand how it works or is suppose to work. But its all just pointless. Nothing eventuates from any of it.

I was thinking that the last time out undermining... It's like one of those old jobs with punch cards... instead, you clock in on TS and another person joins up on your wing channel.. "hello! where are you undermining today?" "I am at such and such".. "spot for another in the wing?".. "don't forget your wing beacon!" and then it begins for hours: Interdict, wash rinse, repeat... all eagerly waiting for a wing of 3 victims. I have tuned out my wife and child while neglecting my daily housework, I think to myself.. "Do I dare look at my powerplay yet? I should be around 2,000... 1,500? drat!"

And again, and again... If I want to keep up my 50mil Elite lifestyle, I can't go exploring, trading, or do anything else in real life as well, because the thought in the back of my head is "if I don't get those 5,000 upkeep merits, i'll have to earn 10,000 all over again.." and end up succeeding in justifying my weekly work away from work...

It's not that hard to get your 10,000 again once you know what you're doing. Take a break if need be and come back when you're ready. I've done it a couple of times. If you burn yourself out you'll never come back and you might even quite ED altogether. We'll still be here with open arms when you're ready to return.

P.S. There are other ways to help our President, if you don't want to do the PP grind. Talk to Froydor or Memau on teamspeak and they can explain further.

Is powerplay still A Thing?
I honestly never noticed it having any importance to the game. I did sign up with a faction and did some missions but they were mind-numbing and I stopped. I sure hope FD didn't pour more effort down that hole.

Rumor is they'll pour some effort into it soon. Quite a few of us actually enjoy it, warts and all.

Did it for a month - never again. Worst decision ever for Elite and it has no bearing on the game at all.

I agree, I always did think PP was a pretty pointless add on. It does not influence or change anything in the Galaxy and is a repetitive grind IMHO. I think it was originally a vehicle for those who wanted PvP.

Not hard huh? Enlighten me, please. I have only heard of one other way, and it requires a huge cargo hold and all of the 50million to fast track supplies up to 5k.

I still hope my idea will one day be championed by the dev team: NPC wingmen.

Always there when you need them and able to help generate the wings of three that are usually rare when undermining solo. And, they don't glitch, don't complain, don't curse, and talk like a 14 year old. There are a few out there whom I like to wing-up with, but sadly the majority talk and act like this.
In my opinion, the EU and UK CMDRs are more cordial and respectful, but most of the Americans curse and use perverse language, and I cannot stand it (doesn't mean I hate them personally)

And, worst of all, when they curse The Lord and only Savior of mankind- Jesus Christ, I would rather spend hours undermining by myself than listen to blasphemy. I don't expect anyone on here who doesn't know Him to understand, but respect is respect- and I would like to challenge those who use such language to do the same at the office or in front of their mother... not everyone you wing up with has a selfish, childlike mentality.

Time for a pro powerplay voice! Powerplay is the only good thing about Elite. Else it would be a boredom simulater... nah.. Folks.. How can we get on same ground again?!

So this post is in the Hudson thread. Maybe OP has at least some trust in President Hudson to make things alright again! A wise choice. But Hudson needs help. We need YOU! The Alliance is taking control of more and more control systems contesting Federal systems and hurting our economy. There is no time to idle on the forum... wait... I need to go back do some more prep and fortification.

Only if the mechancis (click and wait) were not so ... boring...

I meant a good game that is going to get even better with each update! I love powerplay and this deserves much more love from the devs!

Give us powerplay missions, freedom fighters, a better fortification and preperation mechanic and a better ingame communication system (messageboards!).

But otherwise I believe OP may be an Alliance agent tryingt to seed discontent and qualm - in a very Erisian way. We wont succumb to such devious means.

Sorry to disappoint you. I am and always have been a Zachary Hudson Federal man. My OP is a reflection of frustration and seems to be reflected by others who have posted to this thread. I agree with the thrust of your post though. Power Play will be interesting if they tweak the mechanics and make it a more tangible and overtly worthwhile part of the game. I am just bored mindless with the aimlessness and grind every week.

I try. Maybe once I have the personal fleet I want, and all of them tricked out, I might consider using the 50mcr to keep R5, but as been pointed out, most of it is just plain boring.
The worse part is trying to fortify systems 200+LY out. My Trader Vette holds 576t. That's either 5 hours waiting to fill it or spending 5mcr to "Fast Track" it. Prep is the same thing.
It would maybe be a lot better if Mr. Z could convert a couple Control Systems to manufacturing his Mil Supplies for delivery to outlying systems. Then everything wouldn't have to
come from Nonamam to the farthest reaches of the Bubble! And increase the Allotment to more than 50/hf hr!!!
