Patch Notes Update 1.6 and The Engineers (2.1) update incoming

If this has been commented on before, sorry. I did look.

I am not at all pleased that you have decided to update service critical systems in the middle of the day and over evenings. I have worked in computing for over 20 years. Mission critical updates happen over night and at lowest user time.

Your might have charged reasonable prices but I'm left with frequent drop outs, service updates and more.

Really not that good.

It's always daytime somewhere in the world. Whose night are they supposed to do it over?

Just sayin'

I'll say. "Middle of the night" - in relation to a system used around the globe, where all regions must be upgraded at the same time, that takes over 12 hours to upgrade? Well, we'll just wait for the next nuclear winter, then......

Could be a million and one reasons why this is taking so long. But it does seem longer than the first few upgrades, doesn't it?

Maybe they've hit a problem, or maybe it's a massive upgrade due to all the changes and implimentation of new stuff like the need to track rep with engineers.

I came home from work all excited to download it, too. Hoping it would be quiet by now - and it's not even ready. SO when it is the download will take ages and I won't get the chance to play until tomorrow... Ce'st le vie. Might go and fly my drone for a bit.

Update 10: We've hit a small issue with the update. We're working on it now. We're unsure how long it will take to resolve but stick with us and we'll keep you informed! (18:56 BST)

Yeah, there is a problem. And I seriously doubt its "small" when its taking over 40 minutes to fix. Well, who cares, we can play tomorrow friday afternoon and through the weekend.

Greetings commanders!

We're finalizing the new patch and we've added one more patchnote:

"Due to a failure to migrate the old shard to the new engineer shard, everyone has lost all of their progress and will log in with no credits and a sidewinder."

GMT, BST, 24 hour and 12 hour clocks...

Only a small gripe, but I'd love it if you guys would stay consistent with these types of things.

Just this ...... it takes as long as it takes. I'm just glad it isn't being done over the bank holiday here in th UK

Oh! don't you know! the Bank Holiday is when they are applying to post-Update patches to fix the patches which broke things the pre2.1 patches fixed.... ;)
lol

just observing, maybe with games being worldwide now, especially mmos like this, maybe there is no real quiet time to do this. and perhaps employment laws here dictate the cheapest time to do this is during the day when everyone here is at work (including at frontier) and so not likely to be playing... unsociable hours payments or whatever. we dont know the circumstances and to guess what they are based on your own experience... what if it IS the middle of the night where they are? just because its not night where we are doesnt mean its not night or early am elsewhere right?

Is rege0039 serious?

Can people really be this unaware of the realities of the world?

I realise I'm borderline being rude to the poster, but come on. A little perspective would be deeply refreshing wouldn't it?

I can't play either, it's during "my" evening too. But I'm quite aware that when the game is available again it will be full of improvements. And I paid a pretty decent amount of money for it, and got my money's worth a year ago. Now all that happens is continuous improvement and development.

I have also worked in computing for over 20 years. And what? I've also worked for a large multi-national company for 5 years. They don't have a night time either. What exactly am I supposed to do when an update is due for their system?

Hmm... think iv've got time to head to he pub for a quick pint or 2 or 3 or (Place socially responsible drinking limit here) before the update goes live??
