Barnacles Are Different Now *Video*

I've been to two sites now, you can't mine them anymore, they have a green aura emitting from the center, they sound like they're breathing, and they have those sparky lights that emit now like an unknown artifact.

So question, where do you get Meta-Alloys from now?

Luckily I stocked on alloys last week - I've just handed 14 tonnes of them out to CoR pilots. Michael said there are new Barnacle sites to find, so I guess that's the only way to get them now? Problem is, the original sites were in game for 2 months apparently and were only found after massive hints from MB as no one had a clue where to look! :(

The green light from the center as well as the spores floating have been around since they showed up. You can only see the two after the sun has set in their area sorry.

It's a big game, clues are going to be needed. MB dropping hints on the forum is quite unsatisfyingly meta but there need to be some clues that narrow the search parameters to something less than a few hundred million systems. In game, or at least over galnet in a not-so-cryptic-nobody-notices fashion would be good. Maybe the loss of this source will spawn some 'we need meta-alloys and there's a solid lead on them within x light years of system y, check it out' exploration missions....

Agreed.. I really hope the locations of new Barnacle sites comes from in-game missions, and not forum posts from devs. They put a lot of work into the new mission systems so I'm pretty sure it'll be there (otherwise its yet another wasted opportunity for exploration-based mission content!).

They hinted that some missions would have some kind of special rewards without divulging what those were - if not Barnacle locations as Erimus suggests above, perhaps meta-alloys themselves as rewards.

Michael's original "big" hint was that nebulae would be good places to search, like one with seven stars in it (or something like that). Probably need to search places other than the Pleiades; or at least other locations within it.
