Text super blurry in VR for 2.1

For some reason all the text that was crisp is now super blurry for me. Anyone else have this issue with 2.1?

I literally cannot read the text in anything anymore, this on a DK2.

Try turning off Blur in quality settings. Think they defaulted it to on. On Vive it does not seem to matter, in fact turning it off results in jittery movement...

Search the options for a new VR UI Scaling feature. Its supposed to be there.

It is not there. It was incorrectly listed in the patch notes but it didn't make it to the game. Frontier will continue to be silent on this issue as it doesn't really care about VR.

That bag of Oculus money was too good to pass up. Game works fine on there.

Blurring text on my rift as well, so...

Also, did they stop positional tracking? It seems my ship moves with me when I move my head side to side... what's up with that?

Fortunately for you, the ToS won't let me reply the way I want to, so you get a pass for the moment.

Honest, just wanted to see if I was the only one, if so I will open a bug report on it, as obviously this is a bug that needs to get fixed. And you all you drama people need to cool it.

I could be crazy, but I feel like I see a big improvement with the overall visuals in 2.1. The text still looks iffy, but there appears to be less aliasing for me than there was. I'm wondering if they've tweaked the VR low preset to improve texture quality.

Can anyone else confirm this?

Yup, big improvement in the Vive for me. I never touched Beta. I just went straight to 2.1 about an hour ago. All the rendering appears smoother so they've definitely modified the rendering in some way. Obviously something to do with the anti aliasing because certainly the harsh flickering of pixelated text has gone. Of course, as is always the case with antialiasing you get a slight blurring, but the overall effect is better. Don't forget you can only get so far with crisp graphics when you are working with relatively few pixels per unit area of vision.

Overall it feels like a more consistent and polished experience. Fewer judders as well, in fact I don't actually recall any juddering after the update. Well done, Frontier.

yup confirm.

to me on HTC Vive and SuperSampling x2.0 text is blurry too.

The new antialiasing on fonts should be a graphic option ( off with SS x2.0 )

Had no jidder before the update.. Now I have a jidder once in awhile when looking around the cockpit. As for the text, it may be slightly better, but still overall quality sucks for this game in VR (on the vive, still waiting for oculus to ship my rift). Need to be able to see more at once instead of turning into a bobble head like on my dashboard.

Yeah had the same problem, text now super blurry, general UI is ok, but esp once you get to orbital cruise or down to planet surface the HUD is nearly unreadable (particularly altitude, heading etc). Went to look for the supposed-to-be-there scale slider, but yep seems not there.

(And yes am DK2, and yes I already ordered my CV1, but that's still gonna take nearly 3 months to arrive..)

I confirm. DK2. Text was sharper in 2.0, now it is blurry and difficult to read.

Sounds like you lost camera tracking. If the world is desaturated, that's a hint. Make sure the camera still sees you.
