No need for copying or renaming files it seems. The update on my system is almost done and my internet speed is about 1Mbit/s.

I didn't move any files, and it downloaded at 90 MB/s, where I'm used to 4 or 5 MB/s. Awesome fast download. And I guess it was small due to having beta access.

The only problem now is I don't have time to eat my Buffalo Wild Wings. I will have to eat and fly.

Gawd... why i didnt check this thread BEFORE i began Steam download of 8.4Gb with 200kb/s... *insert facepalm here*

Didn't have to either. Must be using the beta files, as the update was almost disappointingly fast - didn't even have time for tea.

I've simply renamed the beta folder... 2 mins... and i was online.

FD should think to implement somekind of versioning system like Git... so we'll have to download simply the differences

It worked perfectly for me playing directly from frontier browser however it has confused the hell out of steam which has started redownloading it again

Any way to get steam to stop auto downloading over my files? Its very annoying but at least using this method the download only took 15mins!
