If you got the Anaconda back then it wasn't through hunting, it was probably through trade exploits.

I am playing since Jan 2015 - I still have no Conda. I however think that progress is to fast...

Reset your save. Man up and enjoy this new system you say is great.

Sure to prove sth to some derp on the internet - I actually have played with the idea to reset. I am sure that I will do it one day. I am still going to enjoy this game in 10 years (or so I hope) - whats the hurry?

Which point. The balanced arguments he hints at? How about ppl start making arguments instead of whining?

OK Han, here I am *waves*

No one is cracking open the Dom Perignon 'whine' just yet, especially me. I'm just asking questions that many on the forum are happy to answer with reasonable 21st century civilized replies. And exchanged rep in doing so as well.

What I'm asking or rather calling for is a balance between professions. The more difficult a task is the more the compensation should be. Since they made the AI awesome, so should the incentive to engage them. It's basics.

I'm special, sure, if asking this question makes me special. If you think having a 12 minute jousting slog with an ELITE AI to which you come away with 8% hull, and get a handsome, royal reward for doing it, and incentive's fit the effort.... Then we're standing united!

You'll never rest. You know the grind to get back to where you were would be terrible and unfun.

You're just trying to collapse the path behind you so you can look down on new players.

I wish to make a complaint:

The new difficulty level means I can no longer play whilst slightly(*) intoxicated.

(*) Quite a bit intoxicated

Agreed, I have been known to drink and fly on numerous occasions after a long day at work. Now I have to do this sober? Come on!

The one thing that hasn't been mentioned once in this thread is if there were little consequences to dying people would be fine with the new AI, they would have time to learn and adapt, but when it costs 8M a pop (for me) which represents about 2 weeks play time for the non Robigo runner (not that the option is there now anyway), or if you don't like trading, then watching your hard earned cash disappear because you are unfairly killed time after time is pretty soul destroying.

Docking under the influence is against the law, me laddo! You're coming back to the station...or probably into the side of the station...then the other side...then bounce around inside the mailslot... :D

Every person who says it was "too easy" before 2.1 should at least have the balls to reset their save.

But I'm betting no one will.
A reset will only make your life less difficult until you ranked up a lot again. I did a clear save in beta, before npc provided challenge and could cause me trouble using all sorts of non modded ship, after the clear save back in the sidewinder there wasn't much trouble. So if anything it would be something for people who have trouble with the new AI.

I mean I don't recommend it, just sayin.

I repeat what I said earlier: The developers need to remember that this is a GAME - it is not a competition to see if NPCs of a certain rating can beat players of the same rating. Yes make them better than the kebab-impersonators but sending Elite NPCs with modified weapons against lower-ranked players just takes all the purpose out of the game. What is the point of trying to increase your reputation with a faction by undertaking missions (even those below your rating) if you are going to get jumped by an over-powered NPC, with a higher combat rating and in a much bigger / more capable ship?

Seriously, even outside of doing missions (which I am now avoiding) - when prospecting a rocky ice planet, on entering the ship from the SRV one is greeted with some trash-talk and some AI twerp proceeds to attack you before you even take off.

The game is going from Elite Dangerous - to Elite F D taking the (... insert preferred expletive{s} here ... )

I TOTALLY AGREE!
The power available to INTERDICTORS is NOW RIDICULOUS!
Previously I could just escape in my Cobra MK111 but in my very first mission carrying low value cargo I was interdicted in the most violent experience ever.
The interdictor seemed to have weapons I have never experienced before creating mighty explosions in and around my ship.
I am not good at combat and I freely admit that but I do like an EVEN contest with some chance for me.
With Elite as it is now I am afraid I am OUT OF HERE after just over a year working hard to gain promotions (Lieutenant Commander)
and progressing to Broker.
GOODBYE ELITE but NO THANKS for what you have done.

Aah Poo!!!
That means I'm going to struggle tonight.... I usually fly under the influence as my CMDR is a bit of dodgy guy!
Oh on the topic of my CMDR..... As a role player, I'm a bit concerned now. Having read most of the posts on here (skimming over the ones that are just slighting each other) Difficult levels are a finely balanced thing for me. Too easy and it gets dull and your mind wanders off and you completely slip out of RP mode. Too much of a hike in difficulty level and the frustration levels rise too much and again you find yourself wondering what else could I do to amuse myself instead.....
I hope I'm not going to end up a disillusioned gamer tonight. I far prefer being an inebriated space bum
Ah well I could always download OverWatch and see what the fuss is about with that....... What no space ships in it? What kinda crap are they trying to push on us?

Read again. If you were a lower combat rank, you would be seeing fewer modded ships, .......

Unfortunately that is not what is happening, the matchmaking is daft and the modded weapons / systems on NPCs are just way too prevalent. It needs a very serious rebalance because traders like me are not enjoying it as much as the pew-pew brigade.

The game's marketing says "Play Your Way" - not any more, now it is play our way or enjoy the insurance screen.

The thing that really bugged me, though, was the prevalence of engineer buffs in the mid-to-high ranks of NPCs. We've got this small band of eccentric geniuses, picky about who they work with. Suspending disbelief to the point of accepting that all of these NPCs, who don't even have the cachet of Pilots Federation membership to recommend them, were supplied with all of these shinies seems a bit much. Given how much effort WE have to put in to get a decent mod from an engineer, the fact that NPCs seem to be able to pick them up at the local convenience store is a bit irritating.
I think you've kinda hit a nail on the head there - I was somewhat stunned when the very first interdiction was a heavily modded ship, thought it was a freak but they do keep coming.

It does feel slightly wrong even if the actual difficulty is about right - hopefully the balancing pass will swap some mods for skills and it'll work out the same but feel more 'right' too.

So you can enjoy the thousand hour grind to a new ship with the new lower income.

More expensive ships don't make the game more fun, they make it easier by enabling faster NPC kills or more credit earning. If you feel like you're "grinding" then you're not enjoying the game and should either do something else or revisit your in-game priorities IMHO.

See. difficult != indistinguishable. English - do you read it?

Better than you, apparently, because you actually used "as difficult as" which in the context of the combat game can be interpreted in English as "indistinguishable". Or "the same as". Or "acts just like". Or many other phrases that carry the same meaning. And the fact you deliberately decided to not interpret my use of "indistingushable" as "as difficult as" or "the same as" or "act just like" is a fairly obvious indicator of your honesty in this discussion.

I've been flying a multipurpose asp explorer. No combat modules, and all slot occupied with stuff, even 64T of cargo, Plus the srv, etx..

encounter with expert anaconda: I won, with 79% hull left
encounter with elite anaconda: I lost, Conda with 72% hull left, but ibhad two retreat 2 times (200Mj of shields only) and I could have flown away any of these two times, just choosed to stay.

I think it is well balanced.

I would never expect to kill an elite anaconda in a multipurpose no combat asp exp, yet I could damage it.

You will have to engage the AI in one form or another weather you are hunter or prey so...

For 12 minutes of fun gameplay I'd ask for 0 payouts. Most games I play don't have payout or progression - I play them for fun not to get to a certain level. Unlike RL I don't have to get paid to put in 'work' - I do it cause I like it.
I used to play different sports at Amateur level - bc I liked them. I liked the challenge AND the recreational aspect. If you do not see the difference between RL and a Game then you are indeed special.
