New player-most likley leaving the game NOT because of the AI but because of you

I started a week ago yes blah blah the AI will be fixed but that doesn't matter now. It is how the community became toxic very quickly, honestly it wasnt the new players posting about AI. The verterns just because down right rude on these forums and reddit. Instead of giving advice like a good load out or start here ( I give rep to the ones that did, you must of had people that loved you as a child) they just spammed things like "git gud" or "wing up" then you have the ones that just say "well you suck, get better" sure that is really helping the new CMDRs. You want to be a part of the community thats great , be productive and useful not rude and spiteful like a teenager because someone doesnt understand your opinion. I liked this game because of the learning curve so I may play with mostly adults. That seems not to be the case. For you "pros" out there how about you post some videos of you destroying AI your SAME level and ship class so we can learn and better our selves as noobs.

P.S. you want this game to keep going, it needs people to buy it so try thinking about that before your next git gud to a new CMDR

So let me get this straight..someone was mean to you and now youre going home?
Dude..if thats your attitude in life all i can say is best of luck. I dont know about you but if i love something like i do elite dangerous..it would take a lot more than someone telling me to git gud to walk away. I think theres a bigger problem here and its not elite dangerous. its you.

I've been playing since January and with one update this game and community has fallen to the level of most other games, that said you could see the rot setting in with the petty player factions who like to take a dump in the sand pit!

Hey Monchota, don't worry about what other people say to you, as if their opinion matters, small comments will always be made by small minded people. I'm sure you'll get better as time goes on, this is a big game and it can take time to get proficient but be patient and you'll be climbing the rankings in no time.
If you want to wing up then add me, my GT is Richard Sharpe, I'm on semi-regular as I have commitments at home.
Keep your chin up and I'll maybe see you out there.

No.
I can only speak for myself but I play and get involved in games to have fun and to escape real life for a moment.
When people can't discuss something without having to insult or treat others in a condescending way on a game forum then yes I can understand others leaving that community.
I know that many game forums are dark places but that doesn't make it right.
I've got a thick skin and only chuckle about the childish behaviour by some but I think that personal attacks like your last sentence can make people go away.

Think before you talk.

I will admit, the forum has become more hostile in the last couple of days, but its also seen a massive influx of new people. I haven't seen any of the long time standing people being really all that rude. I saw just a single sarcastic comment from one's who's know to be sarcastic. Most of the doom and gloom, and "everything is ruined I'm not buying Horizons" that I've seen, has come from new people on the boards. Haven't seen the regulars too often. They're probably out playing the update! Pre 1.6, I really only saw the same 6-8 people. Now I've seen like 20 that I don't know in the last day. Supsect it'll stay a little rilled up until people calm down, or leave the forums.

I get where you are coming from Dutchman, but to be honest i agree with Electric Kite, if a couple of nasty (console) players are going to ruin a game or forum for you just with a few comments, then maybe gaming or forum discussion itself isn't for you. I mean yes, it's better to be nice, but that's just not reality, there are scum within games as there are scum outside of gaming, i'd never play an online game ever if i let the few miserable trolls or grumpy folks ruin it for me. My advice to Monchota would be not to "get good" but to ignore the bad and take in the good, you shouldn't let the few ruin your perception of the many, or of the game. So if i ever see you out there or on here you will be met with respect.

Yep this forum has turned into a disease riddle filth market, but... Bear with it because the majority of bile cropping up is from people who don't post that often so once they have wound their necks in all order will be restored

Yup! I expect after they blow out all of their steam, the forum will calm down, and we'll see more of an influx of the old model. Just a few days ago it was all hype, and help posts. I mean, the forum litterally attacked new players asking for help, drowning them in support and offers to wing up. XD Heck! They were even buying each other Horizons they wanted to help so much!!

I have some sympathy. Any noob starting the game from 1.6 might think "   !" and quit on the game. FD do seem to have forgotten about new players.

Dont take any "get gud" comments to heart. This forum is a lot less toxic than most but emotions have been running high since 1.6.

Don't make your game of choice depend on others. If you enjoy the game then play it and don't worry about others. Most online communities can become toxic quickly but can clear up just as quickly. Just play and enjoy it, that's what games are for. :)

To say that OP is the problem is a personal attack and was unneeded, so no I don't agree with someone who uses personal attack, period.
Personaly I don't care about what people who can't communicate in a respectfull manner say but frases like git gut or adapt are shortsighted and selfish.
One thing I like so much about this forum is that it came close to a place of tranquility and contemplation compared to others, people are helpfull and friendly.
Call me naive but I didn't expect this sudden personal and condescending approach so sudden by some, on another forum yes, but here, no.

let's just discuss our discrepancies with the update in a co-operative manner without having to resort to unproductive and unnecessary mudslinging.

As others have said, this update has brought all the crazies out of the woodwork and into our faces. Don't take it personally.

Side note : Having recently ignored just a handful of obvious long time forum trolls I am finding these forums a much more pleasant place to abide. :)

I have to agree with the OP. It looks like pretty much every other online gaming community and I honestly hoped for better.

Very "Dark Souls" in it's tone and putting other people down.

I play in Solo Play, because at least I avoid griefers that way. On the downside, I get no help in the combat and therefore get shot up pretty easily. My only hope is usually to hold out for the system security ships to turn up and help out.

I'd say stop playing until the next patch either way. It's bad enough having toxic morons in any game, but combined with the glitches, it's very disheartening.

Also, I wish I knew why my gimballed Beam Lasers don't fire even though I have 4 pips in Weapons and they're fully charged? Do I need to balance Thermal weapons with Systems? It's not like I'm overheating, but they just don't work very often. :/

What ship and specifically what hard points are you putting them on ?

There are a few ships that need slight "nose up" to fire hard points placed on the underside of the ship ..

Wow this forum gas gone for the worse in the last days.
I can't really talk about much yet since i'm far far away from the bubble.

I can say however that the massive increase of elitist comments is poisoning the forum. "Git gud", "wing up", "you suck" and "it's called elite dangerous for a reason" is not helping anyone. If i want to be insulted i can go and sign up in a Call Of Duty forum.

Please keep it civilised here. This community is so much better than that.
I know it.
