If they will nerf AI because of you.. Yes, you. The guy who grind this game instead of playing it and think that he have Elite rank.. I told that to you. If they will nerf it. It will be the first time i am gona go and grief everyone to death. I never grief. Because it is just not my way of play. But in this case I WILL. I have 2.5k hours in Elite Dangerous, and my rank is Deadly. Not EVEN ELITE. I don't have any problems with new AI, don't have any problem at all. Why? Because i am a DEADLY. 2.5k hours and i am DEADLY. Not like you 300+ hours and ELITE.

Now listen.

The whole problem of this new AI is YOU and YOUR WAY OF GAMEPLAY. You was grind this game to death. Now game GRIND YOU. To death obviously. That is what you get for Robigo runs. Look at your rank now. See? You are ELITE. Don't cry and GID GUD! You are ELITE after all. Or not?

If they will nerf it because of you, i will be off. And i am sure that it was not be only me. And you better to play in SOLO ONLY by that time. And by myself i pretty much mean every real player in this game who will be off by that fact.

GID GUD comander!

Your attitude absolutely stinks. You're not the only one who has paid money for this game.

I can understand why Elite can be hard for ppl that are used to different skill levels. I can imagine that most of the ppl that are complaining about AI take always the easiest skill level in every game. They just want to run through the game without wanting the learn the game mechanics. When this kind of player comes to Elite and there aren't different skill levels player has two options. Either learn the game mechanics and become a better pilot or just whine cause it's too hard. It's simple as that. Instead of whining those players could ask advice from seasoned pilots. I am sure they are willing to help other people. We could easily turn whine threads in to learning threads.
I don't take the easy option, have been playing on and off since Beta, and am quite happy when I initiate combat in the new version. My problem is only when interdicted. My shields are always taken down within 5 seconds and I am only ever left with the option of running. This has worked in one case and failed in another.

I will wait until I've been playing for a few more days yet before making a judgement, but currently being interdicted by deadly or higher seems to a real pain and I can see why it would be a problem for new users. I'm not sure many would survive. If I hadn't had point defence on the last one I would have been dead for sure.

You can see how this would put new players off. If you are regularly picked off like this you can't make money, therefore you can't buy the upgrades needed to help survival. Also, learning combat mechanics is difficult when you have to run so often. I know you could start picking your own fights with weak opponents, but it's still an issue in my eyes.

BTW, I love playing this game and generally AI level is very challenging, but enjoyable.

My opinion is the A.I. is vastly better and more challenging than before... i'm finding the problem being the engineer(s) mod's some npc's are using make the battle practically impossible. the one's flying around in "normal" ships are great fun!

The insta-kill in this video shouldn't be allowed regardless of ship layout, i'd imagine the cmdr was less than thrilled.

This was similar to mine - but I got hit to 2% - but did not remember my shields dropping - really slow taking my target down - then only a couple of shots and I was almost space dust. But previously I could take them out too easily - now 1 NPC can be enough to cause pain - or a quick teleport back to the last station it seems.

when you meet a ship as i did where skill or 'gitting gud' dont matter, because nothing you do will keep you alive and hes fast enough to keep up with you full boosting away AND still shooting your powerplant out AND your FSD charge time is longer than you have left to live, good luck. you say only get better skills because you havent yet been sent an AI who you cant fight and cant get away from and are dead before your FSD charges. but you will meet them. and you will learn there is no skill in that encounter.

oh, unless you can 100% chance escape interdictions and NEVER go into combat at all. not much fun playing that way though is it?
Thats normal , thats how elite has allway was. its on purpose , its awesome.
I hate how most games give the player all the cards and treat you like the hero , in elite you dont play the hero.
No instead you play the random guy who might make it , might not. depends on skill and luck. and planning

i agree. its not all the AI its the loadout being too much. it should tak account not just that you have weapons when they spawn the npc, but what your ship is probably configed for. the npc i met was obviously combat ship and had mods for combat. i have no mods and never will due to the stupid requirements for doing activities i have no interest in (mining driving an srv) to get the mats. im set up as a general purpose trader explorer who does the odd mission. just because i have 2 beams and 2 multis for self defence doesnt mean i am combat focused.

Yeah, these NPC's are hardcore....

I believe David and company missed making the game of the century. The over empesis on combat overall has made ED nothing more that a shooter in space. I'm just biding my time untill "No Man's Sky" is released.

I don't think they missed it because of anything like that - space games will never be "game of the century".

Oh good grief. The game is NOT Dangerous..............fishing on a trawler is dangerous, being an active duty infantry soldier is dangerous.........playing games sat on your backside at home with munchies and beer, this is NOT dangerous..........Because you play it well does not make you a Much Manly Man......try telling a woman down the pub about your Elite badges, then watch her walk out the door with the guy who has a Mercedes badge on his car................the only danger will come from being sat on your rear so long you get Thrombosis.....
.
The "GAME" is now "Harder".....it is far more "combat" focussed......Some of us were hoping to explore this amazing galaxy, not interested in combat at all.......maybe see some wonderful things, interact with alien cultures....we were told we could play our way, I wanted to Explore.............massive 1to1 scale galaxy.....a sign of wondrous things to come? Nope, stupid Humans never leave their front door, yet think they know everything about the universe, then shoot each other........over and over and over again........
.
Some of us were hoping for something smarter, something more than the usual "shoot shoot" games....maybe a bit of Star Trek mixed with Forbidden Planet a touch of star wars and wall street.......but nope, Elite is just another FPS shooter....lazy and lame, but it pleases the herd..........sad......oh well, back to SciFi books and films.......
.
And Don't give me "Thargoids are coming".........you lot will just want to shoot them and that's really easy for Frontier to code (Simple things please simple minds).....all they have to do is swap out ship models and run the same or tweaked AI.......those of us hoping to interact, be diplomats, trailblazers.....we can forget it......you win......MunchMunch, I want to kill Aliens, slurp, can I have purple lazors?.......burp............Oooh thanks, they are pretty..........Damn, I am awesome........
.
Sorry, it has all been dumbed down far too much for me ...

I'm sorry but this is post of the year! :D Elite Dangerous: Space Doom. ..swtor now has more spine and it turned into rubbish. :(

you miss my point. where is even the luck in that encounter? the cops turning up? you telling me thats what every encounter should be based on? why not stop wasting so much money then, i can go lose my money using luck at a casino. and i get free drinks at the same time. games should allow people to PLAY not just randomly kill them off with no chance to alter the outcome. if i want to watch a movie like that the net is full of streaming sites i could waste money on.

This is so true... exploration was the thing who made me bought this game first... after 2 far away trip was little bit disappointed so then did some bounty hunting to get money for the asp explorer got it and go on a trip again 6000 ly scanned everything. was hoping that my higher ranks in explorations would give me more money but again not enough but now need money and bounty is slower so money is not even possible to get with the 2 things i love to do... they should invest more in other aspects of the game combat was too easy before...and now it's not much harder when you got the mechanics of the fighting but it's ridiculously slow. They need o make other jobs interesting actually who likes mining now didn't tried it a lot but i can imagine how boring it is now with those OP NPC'S around. They need scenarios, stories, explorers need to have the feel of it and get well paid for cuz it takes time. I think i'll sell my FDL ans ASP EX buy an Orca go explore again and get disapointed once more... one day i hope they'll be able to make other jobs interesting.

So you want the game universe to :
1. not use the BGS for NPC generation
2. the universe to bend over backwards for the player
3. scaling difficulty so everyone wins , like in an ubisoft game.

This is not that sort of game. it was not advertised that way and kickstarter vids made it clear it would be harsh

Ill just have to adjust my tactics now thats all

like by not playing the game lol

Been reading this thread from beginning to end now. And I've just had a deja-vu moment. I felt like I was back in Eve. Yeah that horrible, elitist Eve. Where everyone who felt superior in their fighting skills called others carebears and full of tears.

Until now ED forums used to be one of the best, most positive forums of all games I've been playing. I even mentioned in another forum how much I like being here. Until now. It really saddens me how people changed literally overnight from super helpful to horrible human beings just because they are elitists, and in their opinion newbies or those less skilled should 'git gut or git out'. Shame to you.

Yeah, the eve forums were something to behold. Bile, vitriol, elitism, self congratulatory masturbatory posts, a great deal of "You don't think like us, you must be part of the other, and we victimise the other".
Dunno if the forums are still like that, though I don't imagine that they'd have changed at all. I let my subscription expire about 18 months ago and haven't missed it.

The only gripe i have is the spawning rate. Its like deadlys everywhere! Just came from a session in HiRes hunting in one of the new CGs, and almost every wanted NPC was deadly.

That there is one of the problems, people are not always aware of exactly what type of environment they are entering. The clues and tools are there and even then, the zero threat USS all of a sudden turns into an 4v1 with the "they fell for it!" chatter but that's also fine, it's no accident that I happened to have 4 pips SYS 2 pips ENG as I dropped in...

I suggest those of us that enjoy a challenge and find 'cannon fodder' AI ships boring and tedious, just enjoy this right now.

Make the most of it and enjoy it, because it will be nerfed back to cannon fodder soon, the complainers always, always get their way with FD. :(

Untrue , nothing stops you from exploring now.
The AI is just fixed , there not dumb and broken anymore.

You just need to think when going in habitated space is all

dont hold your breath on that i hear its been delayed.
NMS is just a kids game , were the AI will scale with the player and the game will help you and make sure you allways win. nothing about it sounds good.

I hope not. I spent 100euros in celebration of the new AI on the frontiere store.
Soon NMS will be out , casuals will go play that instead...

So we can mine , trade , explore , fight in a dangerous universe... I hope.
I guess adventure is optional in modern games

Everytime you post a "git gud", commanders stop playing. If you think this is a good thing then you're toxic and apparently hate this game. Maybe you're trying to be the last player screaming "git gud" before they bring the galaxy server down? Nobody cares how big you imagine your Anaconda to be, as it were.

The AI is...okay, with caveats? i feel like the curve is off but some parts of it are in the right place. It's genuinely tough to tell what with the NPCs having engineer mods. Those should be a) extremely scarce, as for us, and b) always drop something nice. Elite mobs, ho ho ho.

I guess AI is like metalwork. When you think you're done polishing you're probably about half done polishing.

Like dialing their difficulty back a bit.

No. Definitely NOT!

Like from time to time I'll encounter an enemy that won't shoot at me. It'll do all the maneuvers but won't fire a shot. I killed the first Python that did that but a second showed up laterin relation to the same mission and it didn't shot at all either. I just left that one and jumped.

So far it's only been NPC Pythons for me.

And for the first time EVER, I've had to retreat from a Deadly NPC Asp Scout today. I was so proud of Frontier Developments that I got misty. :D
