My only current issue with the A.I. seems to be the unlimited amount chaff at their disposal that they can use back to back, neither realistic or fair.

Add all their other unfair advantages to that list... The main one being that their modules NEVER malfunction between 85% and 0%, even now that they said they'd fixed that.

They should make it rare for an NPC to have mods. Like only one mod per ship for say a novice, 2 mods for competent, etc. And then have it be like only 2% of NPCS have mods at all, and less than 1% would have fully modded ships, or mods a player can have. Its ridiculous for fully modded ships to be all over the place. Its ok if the skill level of the pilot is good, I don't mind that so much, just it should super rare for an elite dangerous npc to show up fully modded. Npcs should also make one attempt at interdiction, if it fails, It moves on, if a player submits, and flees, then the npc should just let it go. If a player damages an npc, that npc should not be insta-repaired after the player FSD's out of the instance.

I am willing to make compromises.

All the NPC ships have better weapons than previously. The disparity is that they instantly spawn and don't have to go back to the station to get ammo like we do. Going to the station is still still faster than crafting it yourself if you count mineral gathering time. But hey at least we can store ammo in our cargo hold, oh wait, i'm sorry no because that would be OP, right FD? Sorry, my logic gets skewed sometimes.

I love these threads, I knew this would happen when the AI got its updates. All the bounty hunters now have to work for their cash and are moaning that it is far to hard now. Suck it up buttercups you all asked for this.

I have no Problem to work for my Money.
I have a Problem when my FdL get´s Owned by far smaler Ships.
And i think some AI Ships are a bit to agile.
Python vs. Python and you have Problems to become him in front of your ship.

Looking at the poll, it appears that more and more people are beginning to think they AI is a tad too difficult. The AI itself is great, it's what they are loaded with that's the issue.

'Questions are a burden to others' :)

to add to your point:

...and what about the folks who don't choose to "engineer"? will people hold off until they obtain 'A' rated equipment? it seems an arms race has been created where everyone is obliged to join.

i really feel sorry for the traders, miners, fuel rats, explorers, whoever - those who just want to be in the game (some to enjoy some rest), and have to face this nonsense.

this is no longer a sandbox - it's "go this way, or be fried in milliseconds".

....just takes the steam out of the boiler (oh, i see, a rail gun round went through it)

:)

Excuse me, I`m a trader, miner, explorer and everything else on the list. You dont have to feel sorry for me or do you speak for anyone but yourself. Its you who is feeling sorry for yourself. Have you experienced the new AI or are you just jumping on the " woe is me" bandwagon. I have been in a high res site for hours collecting mats and money in an anaconda fitted for jump range with 5A shields,no armour, multi`s and pulse lasers killing annacondas, fdls, pythons etc,etc with no issues. My shields never dropped once , why?. Use the brain you were given, let the police do the hard work and join in. Dont attack wings on your own, use chaff and a bit of FA off now and then, simple no big deal. By the way I am using turrets except for the huge gimballed MC, now how hard is that tell me.

Edit- Actually as I think of it I think the AI is still too easy, they should increase the difficulty.

My humble opinion. Try to understand my bad english.

In my humble opinion, the issue reflects the excess of high level NPCs everywhere. In every Combat Zone or RES or other areas, there are too many Competent, Dangerous, Elite NPCs. The game needs more common NPC pilots and less high level NPCs. They need to be rare and to have a very high bounty to justify the risk.
And by the way, low level NPCs dont have MODs...

The AI can still be rekt, just takes a little more skill.

Yesterday I got interdicted by an Elite Conda bounty hunter in my Corvette. I knew from previous Elite conda encounters that the Conda's SCB are too strong to be broken just from my Corvette's weapons alone, so I rammed straight into the NPC. It broke right through his shield cell banks and the collision put me in a perfect position to target his power plant from 400 meters away. The conda had his plant dropped to 0% in about 5 seconds and he blew up with over 70% hull left. 250k bounty (never even scanned it either).

The first time I fought against an Elite Anaconda it took me maybe 5 minutes to destroy. The second time I knew how the AI played so I rekt it in under a minute just like in 2.0.

I don't think that's fair, Angel.

If you're winged up, the NPCs aren't particularly more threatening than pre-patch. If you're on your own though, any NPC ranked master or above is a serious challenge. Yes, it's great that the NPCs put up more of a fight than they did in 2.0, although not being a kebab is much easier than being a kebab. Nevertheless, there is documentary evidence of ships being turned to slag in seconds, and even though I've not been killed yet by an NPC (I've always run light, fast ships for a reason), the prevalence of engineered mods amongst NPCs of high rank makes most PvE combat very much more difficult than it was. The kill skimmer missions are now almost impossible to complete solo when they spawn railgun-equipped Hawkeye NPC ships on you when you've got 8 million skimmers chasing you too.

maybe its ,more accessible if you run a big ship with big guns , big shields and engineers stuff on, but if your running a cobra or so, so dont have any chance to confront a npc foe that destroys a vital point with too shots and an accuracy of 100%. If there was a true AI , foes would fail sometimes as any of us do

These last two responders, you are in a Corvette and an Anaconda. I'm in an Asp or Python, others are in smaller ships. Sheer intimidation alone gives you the upper hand.

Its now so easy to make credits in this game that you would be out of a cobra in a day, just do as I described above and you will make a few million in a few hours even in the cobra which also has the benefit of speed.

I was killing an asp farming components and a wing with 3 anaconda cops in are also helping. One of the morons flies through my turret beam and I get a bounty of 400cr and wanted, the asp dies seconds later and then my shields are stripped and thrusters taken out in less than 3 seconds, I pop silent running and reboot/repair 5 times and no luck getting thrusters back online so I can jump out....28mill credits lost to a bad driver.

Thats user error. You should know that that is a real risk in non Haz Zones and stop firing when unscanned or Fed ships come near. You've learned now what others have and most likely will be more careful in future [yesnod]
