Horizons FD added more dynamic and very enjoyable combat situations

I took on a few missions to hunt pirates in Nzamnet, 26 in total.
Perhaps not the smartest thing to do as there are no RES in that system.
I will try my luck, I thought.
And indeed it turned out not to be easy and quite slow compared to hunting in RES.

But then... shortly after I interdicted an FDL a few authority dropped in. Two Vipers.
The pirate was already near death and exploded a few sec later.

I decided to hang around with the cops.

Very soon however a pirate Anaconda dropped in.
It had the cool red and black pirate skin that can also be bought in the store (but we players can't have it (yet) for the Anaconda).

A fight ensued and in the middle of that another pirate dropped in, an FDL (also in the red and black pirate skin).
Then an authority Anaconda and two eagles joined in the fray.

During approx. an hour (I lost track of time) a small combat zone was created around me in which I had a very enjoyable and profitable battle with pirates (several Anacondas, Pythons and FDL) and assisted by authority vessels. I succeeded in collecting 16 of the 26 bounties I needed.

So I advise to hang around for a bit and see if more stuff will be dropped into your lap.
The pirate's AI level was very doable and the assistance of authority vessels prevented me being ganged upon by multiple pirates.
It was very enjoyable.

i agree combat is more fun when you dont get a bugged npc. i have seen two of those, one which nearly killed me in and if the cops hadnt showed at 30 seconds i would lost the ship (love the new police response) and the other for some reason only circled me but didnt open fire. she was wanted so i scanned and vaped her. my only gripe is i now have to run from more combat, with damage. and the bounties no longer cover repair. i imagine bounty hunting is now only doable by finding authority vessels to avoid damage in order to make any money.

That's just a good thing. We were used to go bounty hunting for hours and come back without scratch. Now we really need to think who we can attack and who we might be able to win without getting too much damage. High res sites are indeed good place if things get too hairy.
