It depends on how long it takes. Eagles and Sidewinders should always be able to take down Anaconda shields. It's the time it takes that is subject to balance changes.

0 pips in shields and letting him hit you for 20-30 seconds? A bit different than 4 pips in shields over 3 seconds.

The guy had one pip in his system. he should have had more if he did not want to die.
I dont think its a bug , but if it is then FD will fix it.

The two things are not mutually exclusive. Even with a single pip in shields, a Python should not be destroyed in 1.5 seconds total, no matter the weapon.

* SJA removed her Twitter comments - or at least I don't see them anywhere. Most likely to thanks people trying misinterpreted everything developer says again;
* Too much hot air, threats, speculation (FD will go bankrupt) about something is not clear yet;
* NO, no one will nerf AI back;
* YES, bugs and balances will be looked at;

I think it is time for mods to cool this thread down, because it goes in circles, people don't even discuss AI anymore, but OP weaponry, or where balance of the game should lie, should casual players have to be catered - all kind of offtopics. Please mods.
She deleted it two minutes ago after realising the colossal      up that response was and has diverted it due to "feeling bad" recently.

well after someone else told me the bugged instakiller npc was as designed i decided not to play for now. whether i come back depends on if that bug gets patched or its confirmed not to be a bug. so you and he have nearly got your way. i will leave if this isnt a bug and i wont play if it is until its fixed. you and LoreLSR may have billions stashed for rebuys and a throwaway T9 to do a few billion profit for more if you run low, but i have 6 mil thats 2 rebuys unless i sell the half built FAS and i wont get back the 56 mill i spent on it so far.

but noooo dont think of the newbies being slaughtered before getting any upgrades for their sideys. dont think about solo players who cant wing up. noooo reallly dont consider the position of the people who LIKE playing as traders and mission doers and explorers and like to have the new AI with the odd encounters to spice things up... not interdiction spam by vastly op npcs who one hit kill or wings of npcs obviously not their level (as its claimed it should work) who kill them slightly slower. and pirate npcs who demand cargo and get it and then fire anyway.

well to hell with it. im waiting it out as i said. enjoy your empty of players game. i know for a fact im not the only one whos waiting it out and not playing - or hasnt just quit already and its too late. but then again you dont believe anything that disproves your beliefs so theres no point telling you any more.
 
Again, the guy in that video was killed in less than two seconds (in a Python with full shields and health), not even allowing any reaction. Four pips to shields might have made that three seconds. I believe that SJA has a serious attitude problem at the moment.

You probably need a cool down period mate, your drives are overheating!

This is correct, but getting satisfaction from a product you've paid for, is.
That depends , if I buy a CoD game I dont expect to have fun as I hate that game series , so no.

And on top of that the kickstarter and DDF asked for the game to be very , very hard. and it was advertised as being hard and dangerous. even for traders and explorers.

FD will fix the bugs , iron out issues and so on

So we are assuming now? As none of the above Videos are created by the guy I cited ( and I specifically asked him how long it took the Eagle to take out his shields ) I assume you are illiterate or trolling.

I don't think so. This thread has to remain, if it's removed is censorship.
Here lies all the disappointment and of course solidariety towards the patch.
The Devs need to be able to read what is the opinion of the players present in this community.
 
I'm pretty sure by reading all the negative and sometimes hostile posts both here on the forums and on steam as well that the new and greatly improved AI will be getting a nerf at some point soon, this would be a really bad move as ED is now worthy of the name Dangerous. Constructive critism is one thing but to be so hostile about something that you have no attention of learning is completely absurd, yes people just don't want to be out of their comfort zone which is pretty sad if you ask but i'm sure you will get your way with having drones for AI again so until that happens i'm going to be having a great time.

I am not saying it is , all I am saying is both options (be it bug or not) are fine with me.
 
Learn definition of threat....you are getting it wrong. So far not seen anyone threaten you.

Learn what passive aggressive means. Seriously people, just get a cool down and go outside. Stop picking things out of context and go nuts over something that will get look at. No one will quickly turn ship around. No one will also rush to your help. Chill.
 
I've lost 8.5 million cr to the new AI over the last 2 days, I'm not rich either, I only have 21.6m left However.. I am not complaining and I'd rather lose credits from time to time with this new AI than go back to the old one, never lose credits and have 'dumb as a brick' ai that simply isn't fun to play against. I'm sorry for the people who want games ultra easy and kill things while half-afk but this pandering has to cease now! FD need to come out and say "We're sorry but it's saying as it is" and let people deal with it. Why? Because if FD listen to the afk'ers and dumb down the ai to the previous level, just think what will happen when the Thargoids or other aliens arrive and people start getting killed. The forum will be flooded with "it's too hard, make them easy to kill" threads and having done it once, they'll feel obliged to do it again. ..aand that'll be pretty much game over for Elite fans. No offence but not all games suit everyone and if you want to play a passive target shoot game, I'm sure there are loads out there for you.
This complaining by people who want it easy is making me NOT want to play anymore because I dread the AI going back to what it was. I don't want to invest time in a game that will once again have the braindead AI that some like to farm. I lost a lot of money too, and I'm GLAD I DID. I'm glad that I don't have to place as many handicaps on myself anymore just to make the AI a challenge. I want it to remain that way. In fact, I want it to get even harder. I wish complainers would just leave and go play something like Eve Online instead, where farming dumb "AI" is the name of the game.
 
4 pips in shields give you about 50% more shield strength, IIRC. That would have given the guy one extra second - no difference whatsoever.

I think it's around 65%... but that's with base (unmodded). With Engineer mods? I have no idea, probably WAY more - considering the videos of a Cutter attacking a station, going inside - coming out, and getting away.

Clearly this Python was of the unmodded variety.

Low ranks will get easy , High ranks will be getting harder.
 
-I would say experiance , start by only fighting low rank ships first.
-Then of course make sure if you can start a fight in the enemies deadzone.
-During a fight when not getting hit or trying to turn stay in the blue zone and only use boost and full speed to dodge or get behind a target
-When ever you dont feel like you can win , its best to just bug out rather than die
-Every ship has pros and cons , big ships like the python pack a massive punch but are massive tragets and easy to out maneuver (and is easy to hit the subsystem)
-If you can use local landmarks to use as cover (such as astroids)
-When interdicted when you feel you cant make it , submit that way your FSD charges faster
-Avoid head one fights at all cost unless you are in a massive ship , but even then it can be deadly
-If your ship is a heavy one dont be scared of ramming others , just make sure you have all pips to systems !
-Pip management is ultra important SYS makes your protection recharge faster and makes it more powerfull , Weapons make your weapons recharge faster , and ENG makes you faster and more agile

There are a few points that you may be missing here. the interdiction are often not giving you the chance to get out or even respond to them. The words instant Kill mean what they say. There is no change to escape. Ive had this in a Corvette and by no means am i a noob. I use all the tactics you list and more yetstill there are times where tiny ships can destroy my shields that have 4 pips in before i can even boost or start to move out of the way.

Its not the AI its the weapons they have, there is often no way to defend against them no matter how good. Ive seen this, I have had it done to me and there are now a number of videos around showing this.

the issue the forum is suffering from seems to be most people are calling the issue the wrong thing. Not AI but Mods. Yet some are struggling with the new AI agreed they need to work on how they fly but its pointless with Demi God powers given to better flying AI.

Please read definition of censorship, then definition of discussion, subject matter, ontopic, offtopic and everything else.

And devs won't read attack threads or posts. Why should they? They are clearly aggressive and none of them are constructive in any shape or form.

Report issues. Leave emotions at the door.

I can't see systems in the human bubble because there are so many green squares in the way. I literally have a friend list bigger than the number of votes in this thread, and Everyone I talk to has been loving every inch of this patch.
