So we are assuming now? As none of the above Videos are created by the guy I cited ( and I specifically asked him how long it took the Eagle to take out his shields ) I assume you are illiterate or trolling.
Don't bring literacy into it when you failed to use parentheses correctly.

We'll wait for the guy to get back to you. If he provides video evidence of his shield being dropped to 0% in 2 seconds by an Eagle with 3 small hardpoints, you will claim that it's because he had insufficient pips in his SYS.

Again, tell me why your confirmation bias makes your arguments amazing, and that any of my demonstrated arguments are allegedly not concise or prove my point despite the fact that you've failed to demonstrate otherwise.

There are a few points that you may be missing here. the interdiction are often not giving you the chance to get out or even respond to them. The words instant Kill mean what they say. There is no change to escape. Ive had this in a Corvette and by no means am i a noob. I use all the tactics you list and more yetstill there are times where tiny ships can destroy my shields that have 4 pips in before i can even boost or start to move out of the way.

Its not the AI its the weapons they have, there is often no way to defend against them no matter how good. Ive seen this, I have had it done to me and there are now a number of videos around showing this.

the issue the forum is suffering from seems to be most people are calling the issue the wrong thing. Not AI but Mods. Yet some are struggling with the new AI agreed they need to work on how they fly but its pointless with Demi God powers given to better flying AI.
But this thread is about AI , not weapon ballance.

FD will tweak it. they allways tweak things be it good or bad.
 
Learn what passive aggressive means. Seriously people, just get a cool down and go outside. Stop picking things out of context and go nuts over something that will get look at. No one will quickly turn ship around. No one will also rush to your help. Chill.

Sorry, i should learn to not get annoyed by these things. there was no need for the comment really. I do know the meaning of passive aggressive. I dont think it was but its text so can be missed.
 
I can't see systems in the human bubble because there are so many green squares in the way. I literally have a friend list bigger than the number of votes in this thread, and Everyone I talk to has been loving every inch of this patch.
I think FD will look at the ingame stats more than forum talk.
And sins they said they wont nerf the AI its fine , I do think they will tweak NPC weapons and so on soon...
But tweaking the AI to make it easy and dumb would be stupid
 
I sold off all assets and bought a Cobra MK3. A graded of course with medium beams and small multis.
32 tonnes of cargo space, a vehicle hangar, fuel scoop and advanced system scanner.
On top are a chaff launcher and a heatsink.

Its a beast, I know it.
So, I should sell off the Python I spent so long working for, give up my 260 something tons of cargo space, that I am happy with, to go to a much smaller ship, and go backwards in my game goals.

Being forced to downgrade is not fun and shouldn't happen.
 
This complaining by people who want it easy is making me NOT want to play anymore because I dread the AI going back to what it was. I don't want to invest time in a game that will once again have the braindead AI that some like to farm. I lost a lot of money too, and I'm GLAD I DID. I'm glad that I don't have to place as many handicaps on myself anymore just to make the AI a challenge. I want it to remain that way. In fact, I want it to get even harder. I wish complainers would just leave and go play something like Eve Online instead, where farming dumb "AI" is the name of the game.


Actually, if you're looking for a true hardcore challenge I'd suggest that EvE might be right up your alley. Buy a basic cruiser, head out into Low or Nullsec, and say in Local Chat that you're looking for a challenge. I guarantee the speed of escalation will take your breath away :p
 
I know you are so much liking talking over each other but:

* SJA removed her Twitter comments - or at least I don't see them anywhere. Most likely to thanks people trying misinterpreted everything developer says again;
* Too much hot air, threats, speculation (FD will go bankrupt) about something is not clear yet;
* NO, no one will nerf AI back;
* YES, bugs and balances will be looked at;

I think it is time for mods to cool this thread down, because it goes in circles, people don't even discuss AI anymore, but OP weaponry, or where balance of the game should lie, should casual players have to be catered - all kind of offtopics. Please mods.

It's keeping some of the nonsense out of the rest of the forum at least.

Purported bugs (which I haven't experienced yet) aside, the game is still pretty easy to play, honestly. I've taken everything head on with ease that has come up against me in the many hours I've played of 2.1 so far in my un-Engineered Vulture exploration ship while working on getting the tier 5 FSD mod to use for the upcoming Crab Nebula Expedition of 3302.

Yes you are correct. Im just giving a heads up. I believe this is why everything is getting a little heated. Some of us are stuck in the AI good/bad mode and others are stuck in Over powered mods mode and the two are conflicting as in all fairness most people are likely scan reading the posts. (thats not directed at anyone just a general comment.)

Not saying that at all, but you assumed that I had my rear end stuffed with cash and flew a combat oriented vessel.
So I posted my Cobra. I have 245 millions on the book.

I sold stuff because I was moving around too much and stuff scattered. It had nothing with 2.1/1.6 to do.

Wouldn't even want that PA Multicannon if it was available to players.
The "magic" of the system was always the sustained DPS vs. the burst per hit. If you can burst-sustain that kind of damage without drawbacks, I guess we're back to alpha-strike farming NPCs, which is boring.

Tell me honestly, you think that 600RPM on a Plasma accelerator with no overheating, no reload, and no ammunition counter is "seems to be over the top" or is it broken?
 
So she clearly commented on few problems why ship got into trouble. You can really hardly blame her NPC AI code for that. If that's OP weaponry you complain about - then report it as bug.

Why this is even still a subject for Christ sakes?

I'm pretty sure by reading all the negative and sometimes hostile posts both here on the forums and on steam as well that the new and greatly improved AI will be getting a nerf at some point soon, this would be a really bad move as ED is now worthy of the name Dangerous. Constructive critism is one thing but to be so hostile about something that you have no attention of learning is completely absurd, yes people just don't want to be out of their comfort zone which is pretty sad if you ask but i'm sure you will get your way with having drones for AI again so until that happens i'm going to be having a great time.
im pretty sure you havent read more than two pages of the posts by what you just said. you cant learn in the situation i was in. i did everything anyone would and if i hadnt (after i went over it step by step that is) someone would have said try x next time. so my situation clearly had no answer other than pray for cops to turn up next time too. for the rest watch the videos. also remember some players have disabilities and have been doing find even so until now but the game now discriminates against them. they can no longer play as it is regardless of the bugged npcs. please be less assuming and more understanding. lots of the posters here have greater experience than me and none of them came up with some miracle to avoid my situation other than dont be interdicted at all. its not all AI is bad some large amount is instakill weapons.

No it cannot. Most people have about a 1 second reaction time, that does make avoiding a 2 second kill pretty much impossible. This is not the Matrix....

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you just pulled that number out of thin air, but reaction time should be a quarter of a second or less. If you really have that slow of a reaction time, I hope you're not a licensed a driver.
 
As someone who has encountered this 'feature' which has rendered the python a glorified rebuy shortcut, I can say that the AI is not inherently bad, I sat in the dock in my backup conda for a few hours, reading threads and the like and eventually decided to brick it in favor of a much more affordable Fer De Lance. Now, the AI when it isn't using this new instakill 'feature' is surprisingly not as horrible as i expected, my first taste of the AI being in my python for about 3 seconds, my head was full of questions, what do i do, that was A rated equipment, I can't improve that without engie mods and I can't afford to do that right now! But it turns out, the fer de lance, with roughly similar shield strength as my 4 pips python, can tank easily 10-20x the fire that my python could. Once the AI is not showing you the new 'feature' added to pythons, it's quite fun. Now as for my friends, 3 of them 'main' pythons, two have moved to a different ship after 10+ million in losses, another has stopped playing all together and that's honestly just sad. Every ship should be viable in some way, and glorified fireworks displays is not a reasonable function.

tl;dr; The AI is a challenge, but fair and easy to overcome with simple tricks like pitching down instead of up towards them to get them back in line before they can get back to your blind spot, and if you think that the death protrayed in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZN_yZ07-18 is a feature you need to consider if it's a feature that improves or hurts the game, I fall into the latter opinion.

Neither would I. Some of the mods are sooooo over powered. I used my corvette in Beta, un moded....suffered....slightly mod'ed able to hold my own...fully mod'ed unrelenting indestructible tank....was fun for a bit but after...no satisfaction
