I think FD should fix the bugged OP weapons mods. Then we play the game for three weeks
and we redo a poll without mixing the issues (AI and bugged loadouts).

So... nobody is having a hard time?

I'll happily close this poll (and thread) if and when we get a 2.1.x release that addresses the apparent loadout / fire-rate bugs.
 
I'll just throw this in here. I posted a suggestion earlier about NPC behaviour. As the title suggests, the suggestion wasn't really made from the point of view of difficulty. But it may actually help out a little. Not necessarily by completely toning down the encounters, but at least giving a chance for them to lead to an outcome that isn't the rebuy screen.

NPC AI (particularly pirates) suggestions (not difficulty related... necessarily)

There are plenty of opportunities to find decent opposition if you go looking for it. It would be nice if it was possible to avoid the brunt of that while engaging in non-combat roles, whilst not being completely oblivious to what is a dangerous universe.

Not suggested there, but also valid, are addressing the problems with so many senseless all-out attacks by supposedly professional pirates on valueless targets (no cargo, no bounty, etc).

- You can be destroyed in 5 sec only for 2 reasons: crap outfiting or blaster\railgun machine gun bug.
- Well, freebie has been ended, sry. In pre 2.1 era you could make millions without any risks. Now, the more profit you can get, the more dangerous it would be. So, it's only your desision will you risk and take more cargo you can protect, or be more conservative but alive.

- If you're not in Anarchy system, but in high sec, if you're not in Power Play (I bet here the problem of most players, they're in Powers for special moduls and credits, but don't think about consequence), if you don't have bounies on your head, and just a peacefull trader, you shouldn't warry about wings of elite anacondas.


dat is . I'm playing since first seconds of 2.1 releas and haven't been charged to FIGHT if I DON'T WANT. I win 8-9/10 interdictions in small-medium ships and if in large ship, I just drop in normal space and fly away using basic defencive methods i've described earlier.

Apart from that all being , i have 5 pythons that say different, interdicted by elites, no bounty, don't do PP, carrying at most 16t silver, sometimes no cargo, only newbie missions, followed advice of all you "oh I am so perfect it's all because you suck and are useless/ship is not properly fitted out because you are stupid and don't know what you are doing," lemmings, "AI must be harder, HARDER till none that I can survive ."

Can't run, don't want to fight, ship parked until it's fixed and if it's not fixed won't be back, Guess you are happy now, one less person to share your universe with, but of course you don't care. Going to laugh when they nerf it because they lose to many players, but you know I still might not bother to come back because I am not sure I want to share a universe, even a virtual one, with people like you!

Oh look, the combined numbers in the poll for "to easy" and "just right" is now less than the "to hard" total, guess that means it will be nerfed because they are now the majority of players, and you know, when you have a business you need to cater primarily for your main market.
 
I would be disappointed if FD nerf AI back because of mass complaining of more "entitled" part of the community. ED is a game with high learning curve and we like it because of that. For once in a while NPC combat is not a dull grind, I felt thrill and had to retreat more than I was expected to. I had my canopy broken, my modules busted, my hull perforated. But boy my heart was racing, blood was pumping, I was thrilled! Every victory was sweet and even getting away with my engines still on was already something to celebrate. Now this is Elite _Dangerous_ I want to play more! I certainly don't want it go back now. I'm rather unhappy with entitled attitude going on in this thread, with demands of easy combat and assured victory as cherry on the top. It's just more feeling of a mindless grind. Yugh!

I would say that expecting less-able players to struggle unreasonably simply so you can feel thrilled (which, thanks to that old chesnut the hedonic treadmill, probably wont last overlong) is a more entitled attitude than simply wanting to enjoy a game as part of the non-hardcore masochist set.

Oh, I was interdicted for the first time in a High Sec system yesterday, so I guess they have changed something and might want to review that approach.
Hail of dumbfire missles, didn't even have PD installed .. most missed - bit to the left, bit to the right and ringle round.
220mj (tiny, less than the recommended ASP loadout at 290mj shields with PD) went down -4 pips in shield .. well, seems to do something-, Friendship drive engaged just as the cops dropped in.

I believe the random pirate generator has been broken - flew for 2 hours yesterday in my Corvette and got interdicted 8 times always by an Elite Fer-de-Lance. I escaped 4 times, destroyed them twice but got wiped out twice. I've been playing since day one, am ranked Deadly so do think I know how to fight and use pips, etc. Could Frontier turn the dial down from 11 to maybe an 8 or 9 instead?

Sorry Boomer but the responses I've been reading to varonica have been patronising, antagonising and aside from one or two, not helpful at all.

You even couldn't help yourself from insulting the guy's attention span, come on. That's clearly not the point which is being argued. That was a cheap jab.

Went out in my multipurpose ASP and combat Courier for the 1st time after patch for a long session tonight.
Nothing abnormal, AI is not brain dead now, but nothing impossible to overcome.
Aaand... i honestly can't believe some people are posting videos on YT about their fighting "performances" with pythons against sidewinders battles lasting 15 minutes and crying out loud about not being able to kill them, since it's obviuos from their loadouts and pip management they were killing stuff per 2.1 only because NPCs were basically turkeys waiting to be shot.

Now at least pve bounty hunting requires some effort...

I've also seen the infamous "1 shot insurance" videos, maybe that's a bug... not affecting me at the moment.

So Basicly you are saing, it doesnt concern you untill it happens to you, then i wish it will happen to you very soon and in most horrible way. Because some people have Horse Eye Patches and love to look from their point of view to not see the dirts around them.

He's not trying help, he's just jumping up and down on the "whiners" and saying "GIT GUD IDIOT." Basically told me I am lying because things definitely didn't happen the way they happened, I must be imagining things, not know what I am doing despite following advice from his own cadre of "experts" and must have a crap ship setup. FYI I used to play this game several hours a night with full attention and never watched TV while playing so you're in the same category as him, you're just a "git gudder" backing up a fellow "git gudder" to jump up and down on the "whiners."

Have fun in your universe, I'll take my money and go and find another one.
 
Nope, I'm afraid to tell you, it is not too hard. Just played around maybe 6-8hrs of combat in the ngolibardu community goal and made into the top 10%. Someone just beat me right before it hit tier 10 and I got dropped to 25%, but 16 mill is still not bad plus the 6mill in bounties I got, so roughly 22mill in total, can't complain with that.

It is not too hard, but the AI is really a lot better. You need to think twice before taking bigger ships down. Also the Anaconda sure has been beefed up, no longer canon fodder. Oh and the Anaconda can pretty much turn on a dime now, some trick with the thrusters, seen enough anacondas in combat now, they can hold there own with smaller ships. The Fer de lance, I would think twice against that, another strong ship in battle. Oh and the Python is a tank, man that can take a few hits.
 
You used anecdotal evidence, hundreds of players are reporting similar events. My complaint was with the way you conducted yourself in the cheap attention span shot. That has nothing to do with the person.

I was referring to other players' responses, which are exactly as I described, antagonising, patronising and unwarranted. If you read what I said again, I think that the differentiation is adequately clear, though if you'd like I could add additional clarification which would result in a convoluted post like this.

Back to the point: Either they *all* suck and need "advice" from amazing players who know everything that's happened based off of 1 (key words: anecdotal evidence) interdiction in Hi-Sec (I can be cheap too) or there's a bug that you've, fortunately, not experienced.

Which is more likely? Be honest.

Someone else did it earlier in the thread to try to suggest that most players wanted to keep it as it is currently (or make it harder) - it was about 35%/55%/5%/5% at the time - and used a 35% / 65% split to try to make their point.

Because they are trying to determine if people think the AI is too hard. So it makes sense to put all the votes that count for "not too hard" in the same bucket ?

Someone just beat me right before it hit tier 10 and I got dropped to 25%,

I got knocked down a peg by that too, a lot of people dropped their wages! Was gutted! Ah well, as you said, a nice sum of cash anyway!

A lot of people are reporting bugs which are separate to the current competency of the AI, but there are some intertwining issues which combine the both of them, both flaws in the new AI (they do some real dumb stuff occasionally :D) in combination with the new bugs.
