I think it best to lay off the conspiracies about your man leaving his job. As I recall his daughter was injured in a workplace accident and found out her health insurance wasn't up to scratch.

If his family are in Austin and his current employer can't reduce the amount of travel to LA he is required to do, it is not unreasonable to hand in your notice to assist in your daughter's welfare and rehabilitation.

There are plenty of other axes on the weapons rack to pick up and start grinding, leave the guy out of it, eh?

I think he was an Art guy, yes? Much as the project overall doesn't meet everyone's standards, they have pulled out some interesting looking ship designs. I doubt he would've been in trouble trying to find a new employer in the industry.

The took on one of the guys from Marvel a couple of months ago that looks like he was brought into replace him.

IT doesnt look like a last minute thing, the guy had clearly had enough of living away from his family.

Agreed. Here's hoping his daughter recovers well and that things go well for him at his new employer.

I don't suppose that whole grey market thing - and any connections of the dealers to insiders at CIG/are insiders at CIG - will ever truly come to light.

But I'll bet some people made 5 figure sums out of it at it's peak - easily.

In the early days certain LTI ships were selling at close to 300% markup. You are talking massive sums of money. That's why I don't trust SC 'White Knights' there are so many possible conflicts of interest both financial and emotional that just isn't an issue in any 'normal' crowdfunded game. I judge the game by its delays, content delivery and divergence from original vision as any crowdfunded game should be judged.

I remember when I first became aware of it and that people were spending large amounts of money on digital goods that at one time it wasn't clear whether CIG would allow it - or would pull the rug out from under it.

But then when you factor in how it helped the sales figures and the fact if someone knew someone who had knowledge not publicly available - those people could make some money knowing it wasn't gonna get chopped and was relatively safe - at least in the sort term.

Indeed - there is so much publicly available indisputable "evidence" of the issues I really don't get why people feel the need to attack people (and their record in the games industry or elsewhere) who are in large part just pointing out the obvious. As if discrediting one person suddenly makes anything that person said invalid.

Stuff that's obviously in full public view for anyone that cares to look.

The TOS deadline expires at midnight tonight, in the interests of correct grammar we should all start using past tense to refer to SC as of then.

Did i miss something? Since when we have stopped to deny the existance of double precision?

Since Star Citizen must be a scam because it is being delayed. Therefore all features either don't exist or are bad hacks at an engine that is not capable to work with space sims.

Yes, they are this stupid.

LoL really. Another failed prediction.

I wonder what they'll do?

It's hard to see an option that doesn't get a giant backlash. Not an enviable position to be in.

I suppose doing nothing would be the kick it down the road a bit option..

See, this is why the inner circles of the SC fandom is perceived as kind of a cult by outsiders:

It's like, whatever the bad news is, there's always something to tell yourself so you don't have to internalize the bad news as bad. Even if it's grasping for straws like "every dev company is behind schedule".

You are taking things out of context. Nobody said that. And you didn't even bother to read the original question. Reported.

You know that abusing the report function is also bad?

And about the timelines, boring. Do we really need to repeat this boring talk again? First vision, secound vision of sc, got bigger, more time needed etc etc etc

In the end, on side says, it got bigger because people want it so it takes more time and on the other side they wanted to have the first vision of the game deliverd yesterday. Both are right both are wrong. We can talk in circles infinity.

It was restricted but never closed, this article gives you the idea of some of the madness. $1700 for a $300 scythe(the unique alien ship which was replaced by the better Glaive later on) http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-10-08-inside-star-citizens-grey-market

Folks, it's simple.

We can agree and disagree about things, that's all fine. But collective insults aimed at people in this forum like "They are that stupid"? You bet I'm reporting that. Don't act like your personal freedoms have been infringed. And don't try to make it look like I reported this post because he "didn't answer my question".

Get back to discussing Star Citizen. Even if we completely disagree about fundamental things, it's no excuse to resort to insults.
