Distant Worlds 3302 - Journey's End

On May 31st 3302, some 20 weeks after the fleet launched from the Pallaeni basecamp, the FGE Flotilla finally touched down at Darwin's Legacy, Beagle Point.

The occasion marked the official ending of the Distant Worlds 3302 Expedition.

A week long set of post-expedition events for the flotilla pilots is scheduled at Beagle Point, before the last remnants of the greatest fleet in Elite history begins to disperse and make its way home.

From Dr Kaii, myself, and the DW organizers, many thanks to Corbin Moran, Wishblend, and the FGE pilots who guided the flotilla across the galaxy from Drake's Ridge to Darwin's Legacy.

And congratulations to the flotilla!... you made it to BP and earned your place in Elite folklore

The next time the Distant Worlds fleet will be together will be at Mitterand Hollow, sometime in December for the Fleet Reunion event (details will be posted closer to the time).

Well done to the FGE and to all my fellow Cmdrs who have made it to BP.

Some of us are still on the way! I am 5,756 LY out as of last night. I will make it before the 5 June final deadline. Is that date still valid? Just making sure...

Flying happy

Yes, 5th June is the final day for being eligible for the decal - so get moving! :D

Congrats to all the FGE-pilots!!
Gosh, it already feels so long ago and I have only been back to the bubble since 4 weeks.

Well done to all on Distant Worlds!
I'm thinking of joining up to one of these future expeditions.
But solo expolration can be great fun too! :)

Well done CMDR's! I raise my piccolo late to you (it's breakfast time here, otherwise I'd salute you with wine or beer).

See you all somewhere int he black!

Oh, and the DW logo looks awesome on the ship!

Thanks a lot! It was a great reception yesterday, with people coming out to accompany us on the final jump while others fired up their wing beacons and flood lights to guide us safely into landing at Darwins Legacy.

It feels amazing to finally be here and i´d like to thank all who flew with the exploration wings at some point during their journey to Beagle Point.

Just for the record I would like to clarify that most of the pilots from the FGE that took part in Distant Worlds actually flew with the main fleet (and as such arrived at Beagle Point months ago). At first the exploration wings was simply Wishblend and I from the FGE offering to host a secondary set of meet ups for any pilot with slower ships or less playtime. During the last months we have had the privilege to meet so many great people out there, either for just single meet ups or as regulars converging at every gathering point. It has been great fun and really awesome to get in touch with so many nice people. New friendships has been formed and I already look forward to continuing the voyage with anyone interested. We will be returning home via the Sagittarius-Carina arm and if there is an interest we could very well organize some meet ups for that part of the journey as well :)

Congratulations of making it to Beagle Point! It is impressive to see so many people dedicated to exploring and spending so many months on this expedition. Take care out there!

Oh sure...give me a reason to go back, why don't ya?

I was falling asleep at my desk last night, so left just before the FGE crowd turned up. I managed to scare the hell out of some poor Asp pilot, as I decided to take off and make space next to the t-9... right as the aforementioned Asp went buzzing by overhead!

Sorry about that [hotas]
