there is good news the reference to once we find it it might be hard to stop, or we hope we can stop it spreading means whatever is coming has the potential to spread over space and perhaps for players to fight it back or influence it in some way
Also - did this building have one of the "telescopes/radio transmitters/whateveritis" on top like the Dark Wheel base? From the previous screenshots it doesn't look like that's the case.
For those in the bubble a lot since Horizons launched, you might notice this logo appears quite frequently on many planetary installations. They're splashed generously around the circular outer wall of the large planetary ports, for instance. I've seen said star on similar buildings at various surface settlements
As to the directions the telescopes are pointing in the observatory in question, I wouldn't totally rule out some significance in it in this instance, but I certainly wouldn't "bet the farm" on it: I've seen a couple of radio telescope observatories in my 'usual' area of operations [galactic] "south-east" and below Achenar. I think it more likely that this style of installation is to give some 'flavour' to the surface settlements we see, like the industrial/mining, commercial and scientific 'outpost' space stations
Been away a while (in beta)
Lucky Luke et al, great work on collating all the main points into the beginning of this new thread!
Now, this logo ...
The tinfoiling on this logo is impressive - Unfortunately, I think it is a dead end:

Sadly yes the tinfoil is impressive - but not from me - I merely reported my observations (heheh)
It would be good if people found more of the "observatory"-type ones, is all I'm saying. It would add more data towards discounting or including them in any potential ongoing storyline.
Really going to be irritated when the "IT" is found in a system that I tagged and I flew right by it without even noticing...![]()
Someone please correct me if I am mistaken (I am rookie in all this, after all), but Drew said...
- easter egg, should we call it, has been in the game for very long time (since the launch?)
- you don't need Horizons (= landing) to find it
- it's not USS
- you can stumble upon it and left completely unaware of your discovery
Therefore, I am 99% sure that the solution -or at least a hint leading to it- is contained within the textual description of some godforsaken random planet.
You're probably right. It'll just be a random planet with regular descriptive text and at the very bottom say. "DREW RULEZ!!!"

I had asked Drew in the recent ama if it's something we can see from a distance while out in space or if we need to follow clues to find it. He said some markers are visable, but not every thing is. And that we may have seen some aspects of it.
So whatever it is, it seems to be something horrendously underwhelming considering the collective effort that's been put in?
From the AMA it was implied it'd be more than a POI or single 'thing' - more an area of stuff to notice and try and piece together - and that it was fully in game there to be found and seen as is.
I expect wreckage in USS's in an area, terraformed but empty worlds and a something that wakes up - been wondering about watch your six though. Is that a warning that the threat will follow us? Or that our actions will be watched and if we get too close the remains on INRA will swoop in?
Currently I'm more of the line that it follows - and that the Wayfarer's Graveyard is testament to those who have found it before
With how you've laid out your plans you could join in part of my next rift plan in between upgrading and nonsense - bringing back as much information as i can possibly salvage from the Wayfarer's graveyard - it was full of data caches and all sorts in 2.0 and will only be more interesting now - and it seems like a better place to search for a clue than Tionisla which I think is probably well covered. As set down by CMDR Salome - im currently headed to Alpha base and from there ill begin scanning systems of interest
